Gundo does in games what the likes of Foden and Jackie should do more often. Grab the game by the scruff of the neck when it’s getting a bit scrappy and we aren’t at our fluid best and simply deliver a match winning performance. This happens to him quite a bit and it isn’t luck. His penchant for important goals is incredible.

I simply can’t believe we’d let him go for the sake of a two year contract rather than a one year one. It’s just a no brainier for us to want to keep him. Whether he fancies a fresh challenge or a change of scenery is another matter. Be surprised to be honest if that was the case. He’s been here seven years now and like most of our best players, he’s played the best years of his life in the most successful team in the land, winning trophies galore and being part of the greatest side the PL has ever seen. Spot on. The length of contract on offer should have nowt to do with age, but be all about performance. On his recent showings (as usual at the business end of the year) he deserves at least anogher two years, maybe more.
