I think we all thought banana skin against Everton and we crushed them. That sent a message and Brighton did their bit. This is a great feeling right now. All eyes on Madrid & then Chelsea at home

Brilliant. Sets us up nicely for Wednesday. We can go all out in that. If Forest get the win on Saturday, even better. The resting can start on Sunday. If not, get it done v Chelsea and we have two dead rubbers before two massive cup finals. Don't think we'll ever have a better chance of getting the three.

A few months ago, I thought Arsenal deserved it.

Good to see things change.

Sunday 10th July i posted in the "Curious case of Raheem Sterling" thread:-

He could be watching us lift the trophy in May. Last home game is Chelsea.

Why do i never put money on these things?

A sad and depressing end to the title effort.

The mentality just wasn't there yesterday. Lose a game by the odd goal, but you don't lose against 7th place by 3 goals at home. Furthermore, you don't not show up.

We've done this crap before. All well and good laughing at Spurs but this is the history of the Arsenal, too

Embarrassing

Again, I don’t understand the negativity. I am by no means an arsenal fan but I think your lot have done quite well: qualified for the champions league and finished second. Any arsenal fan would have accepted that in August. There is clear progress. How is that “embarrassing”?

That said, your players go to ground far, far too easily. The image of their manager. Maybe if they stayed on their feet and tried to play some football instead of trying to win free kicks and get opponents booked, they might have put up more of a challenge of late. However, MCFC have broken much better teams than yours over the final straight. There is nothing embarrassing in that.

There being about 85 fans left at the final whistle, now THAT is embarrassing.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

When you're going to see the same Arsenal approach going into end of season games time and time again, it gets sickly.

I know a few Arsenal fans who were able to get tickets for their one and only game of the season thus far yesterday.

I genuinely cannot blame them for leaving early of that's the shitshow they were served up. (It's perhaps an anomalous result in the context of the season, but it's happened against Brighton before and it's happened against other sides in seasons past when we're vying for the title. It is embarrassing and not something that can be landed at the fans' door)

Agree wirh Tokyo not embarrassing for your lot at all. Firstly, fair play for you coming back on here after the games yesterday. You're going to finish second to the best team in the country -no shame in that and I'm sure when you look back over the season, you'll have ended up in a better place than you and the majority of your fans would have imagined. The key for you now is to build on this season. The loss of Saliba has killed you. That shows that your squad is too light and you need to add quality replacements - Cancelo is available....!!
You've taken the title race into May but finished short. There are a shit load of teams who would love to have said that. I'm happy that you have replaced the scouse vermin and look forward to going up against you again next season

Thanks Salford and thanks Paul68. Thank goodness it's a working day today and not a bank holiday. I can distract my attention away from all things football
