Slightly off topic, but a bit related... Why the hell did they cast Johnny Depp as Mad Hatter (besides him and Burton being bum buddies) and then making him up to look like Elijah Wood? Wouldn't it have been easier just casting Elijah straight away and not having to go through the make up procedure?
