FA Cup or Champions League?

Postby Original Dub » Fri May 19, 2023 6:56 pm

Heard this question posed on one of the city podcasts and it's pretty interesting, given that it's not just anyone in the fa cup final.

Obviously purely hypothetical, but let's say the Premier league is won this weekend:

You have a choice of one of the two remaining pots.

Which one is it?

Wowzer what a predicament great Q I have to give this some thought on the face of it Chumps as said to shut up all these legacy cunts But F A is against the Rags and to lose would be bad enough but to have them ram down our throats that they stopped us getting the treble for - forever and a day would be unbearable , Help me out Lads I am well undecided

Fa cup means the world to me, it's the one I always want every year. Especially against the rags.

But this one time, of we absolutely had to choose between the two, the champions league. It's a monkey on our back. Let's beat that monkey off and shag its arse.

One game at a time, don't let the rags get bragging rights. Win tthat one and then move on to the next.

It's as simple as that....

That's dodging the question.
It's certainly the right way of looking at it, but that's not an answer to the question posed.

Horrible question, but I also have to say CL.

Don’t want to lose either but winning the CL puts us in the elite bracket and also shuts a lot of people up. We’ll always get shit off the rags but the downside would be we have no idea how long we’ll have to wait to put losing a final to them right and I doubt Pep will want to go into the UCL on the back of a defeat.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

It's time to win the champions league.

An fa cup loss can be written off. Not so sure you can say the same about the chumps league.

This to me, seems to be a mix of 'typical city' and a response to the nonsense that most non-match going utd fans are trying to spin. WE ARE THAT GOOD THAT WE ARE IN A POSITION WHEREBY WE DON'T HAVE TO CHOOSE. Let's stop fucking entertaining the subject -where is will we / can we win the treble poll?
We are on the cusp of a history defining season and one that will break every red shite heart in the world. I choose win the fucking lot- one game at a time. Smash the red cnuts at wembley and old big ears will take care of itself. Let's lose the inferiority complex

Of you said beat Inter or beat United it would be United every single time. Though we got to get this monkey off our back and win the Corrupt Cup so Champions League.

However we won't hear the last of it if we don't wi the treble and the media cunts will just switch to using that against us.

Both.
I haven't a fecking clue what I'm doing! Gillie come back man I want my sig back. As the Photobucket thingy gone?

Heart says FA cup and beat the rags. It would be awful to lose a final to them, especially given the circumstances

Head says CL. It's a pot that as a club we've been striving for and having never won it, would be good to do so. It also opens the door to a further two pots. And the revenue it would generate far outstrips that of the FA Cup.

Thankfully this is hypothetical, and an interesting viewpoint nonetheless, but we can and should and probably will win both to elevate ourselves even higher

Can’t see the cartel allowing us a treble to rival the scum I’m expecting dodgy decisions extra time manipulation etc
However if we get there looking forward to Italian players hurling themselves to the ground. After apparently being shot and working on jack trying to get him sent off like the World Cup Italy against France a few years back.
So if we get the wins we’ll show how magic the team is.

Just win the next game

But it would cause me much greater pain to lose the fa cup final
