When we had a tour of Maine Road he was the one doing it. Always reminds me of him thinking about Maine Road

He took me and some friends and colleagues on a tour of CoMS before the 2003 season.

I didn't think we would go on the pitch yesterday. Shame they could not be arsed listening to the request to stay off the pitch but at least i got a pint while they were clearing the pitch. Becoming a theme, win the league, invade the pitch and fine incoming

Very valid point about the airline
They could easily put on a number of charters

Clearly not taking rhe piss with the flights as they've all but gone? Agree on the charter piece but the club cannot be expected to pick up the tab. The price is what it is - pay it or don't. Its a fucking joke that it is in Turkey but there are cheaper options of getting there albeit i see east midlands route went up £500 overnight

Why can't they? The clubs packages are far more expensive than most flights. I've got direct for 583 and a cheap air bnb

We are forced to limit spending on players because of ffp - yes - nothing stops them putting flights on etc. If it wasn't for ffp pretty sure the sheikh would have put double into city

I doubt the club can just rock up to an airport and go “listen lads, we’re flying out planes from here in a few weeks whether you like it or not”.

Is it correct the club are subsidising their official packages to the tune of £300 each?

Don't know the £subsidy by the club - if its your figure then fair play to them.

Maybe not.

But a big airline like Etihad has clout. And for arguments sake they could have anticipated the situation and booked flight times a few months ago in advance. And if we didn’t get to the final then so be it. You could even argue have the flights from London so even if we didn’t make it, fans of other clubs could easily get to London and fill the planes

Etihad don't fly to Istanbul from manc. To expect them to get through all the logistics of setting that route up, and only for one weekend, in the space of a week to allow themselves time to sell it is fucking madness.

The extra flights being laid on are all by existing operators on that route.

Bizarre argument this.

Also pitch invading is stupid outside of real incredible moments. That it's become our "thing" to do is moronic and serves only to give more ammo to our detractors. It only takes one or two drunken dickheads to fuck it up. In hindsight, could you have imagined if we beat United in the 2-3 a few years back to win the league and there was a pitch invasion?

It needs packing in. Sorry to be a grump.

Spot on. I doubt it’s just a case of saying, “we want to fly from here to here - is there space for the plane?”
H&S will be huge. Flights are available like a year in a advance. I very much doubt it’s just a case of saying they want to put a few flights and it being okay.

PLUS - we didn’t know it was 100% going to be Istanbul. They were considering Portugal up until last week.

1) sheikh can do what he wants. They also needed more chartered trains put on as I'm not getting a 6am coach

2) people that moan about pitch invasions are usually people that don't go or are in tier 2 or 3. What is the harm? The players like it and its not even like we can celebrate with them like when we were shit. Security gets them off.

Every club pitch invades apart from red scum and any game at Wembley because you can't get on it
