The LC game was 24 hrs before, and Club World Cup rules stated the squad for the competition had to be there something like at least 36 hours before the game for press/sponsorship commitments, etc.; they were put in an impossible situation whereby they had to throw one of the two trophies. Winning the two competitions (SuperCup and CWC) is supposed to bring in around €11 million in prize money alone (and then there's TV and sponsorship money on top), so it's not a bad haul for 3 games.

By winning the CL, we've also qualified for the revamped 32-team edition of the Club World Cup in 2025. It's going to be held in the summer, with the location to still be determined.

I've a feeling we're going to make a slow start.

So definitely need to avoid Burnley first game, Kaptain K has had them back training since 5th June.

Ahem.... you were saying?

I expect the match v Newcastle will be moved otherwise Pep will have to play a weakened team.

March is horrendous. Glad we've got Luton at home so late in the season. Hoping we hit double figures and send the fuckers down. Been waiting a very long time for retribution.

I see the Arse are top of the league again . At least at Burnley we'll have a chance of taking the top spot !

What I don't understand is why a match would be rearranged to enable a team to not field a weakened team? Especially us.

Is it me or do all the harder games seem to be condensed into a tight timeline?
