Stupid to develop these players and not loan them but sell them with a sell on more than double what we sold them for. Pointless.

Pointless?

Respectfully strongly disagree that our Academy and its reason we have it is pointless. It’s a massive cash generator for us and we turn a much higher percentage of its graduates into professional footballers in the footballing pyramid than any other

The reason we have the academy should always be to get the best youngsters into the first team. They’ve been developed into the way we play for years and know the ins and outs.

Selling the ones that will never make it with us will generate decent money. But the players like Trafford that might make it with us but it’s just too young to tell, it’s pointless selling them when we could loan them and either they make it with us or we likely get more money for them down the line.

There are probably different accounting rules that we want to work around that also have a say in how and when we decide to loan and when to sell too.

Trafford has been on the highly rated list for years so I am going to trust they have a plan and from the interviews I heard of him he seems level headed so I am sure they've had conversations about his progression plan that he's bought into too.

Think this is slightly different to Lavia for example who we bought in older and moved out a lot sooner so doesn't have the same bond with the club.

Carsley used to be the manager for our EDS. Probably some fallout from that because there’s absolutely no way McAtee shouldn’t have been there. Baldy twat

Think it's standard if it hits one of your own players to give it to the guy it hits. If it had deflected off a defender they'd have given it him

Correct.

And all the dippers are crowing how one of theirs won the final. Which is par for the course for the entitled twats, but infuriating nonetheless

I thought if it hit a defender but the shot was on target it’s the attackers goal? Has that rule changed now?

We’re celebrating trebles and they’re celebrating a no mark player getting the ball hit at his arse deflecting it in. Class

Whilst true you also have to look at who is ahead of the Academy boys. Trafford is at a disadvantage in that there obviously is only room for one goalkeeper and he has Ederson in front of him who will arguably be our no1 for at least 3-4 more seasons. Guys like Foden and Palmer and Lewis who have already graduated to the first team have a wider range of positions they can fill in for. And hopefully the likes of HB, Borges, McAtee and possibly Doyle and maybe one or two others, will follow the same route as there will be more scope for opportunity in outfield positions

Always been if it hits an opposition player when the shot is on target it goes a goal for the shot taker rather than an og. But if the shot hits/delects a team mate the goal is awarded to the team mate. Hence the dipper was awarded it and the shot taker, Palmer in this instance, then gets an assist

From MuEN

Sergio Gomez has slammed his Man City teammate Cole Palmer for celebrating vs Spain in the U21 final: "It surprised me. He didn’t want to apologise or anything like some of his other teammates. I don't know if we will talk about it or if he will tell me something. I am not going to tell him anything, I have congratulated him, as it has to be done. If you want to say something to me or apologize, ask me, but the truth is that it has not been a good attitude"

Interesting to see what happens when they are back training...

What happened? What did Cole do to celebrate?

It's hard to understand quite what did happen, I was in my Spanish local down here in Marbella.

Sergio made an untidy tackle on Cole, ref gave free kick immediately and I assume Sergio didn't agree and maybe words were said before the free kick. After the ball went in Cole ran back kick toward the dug out to celebrate then it kicked off but not initially with Cole

This 8s the only video that shows it

Cheers for that Hants. Looks like he’s wound them up by celebrating in front of them but something must have been said by one of the other England players because you can see Palmer didn’t open his mouth.

Also, who is/isn't eligible for the UEFA B list, which is how a fair few get minutes in the final group games.
