Gvardiol

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I do think some of these clubs group together to make it difficult for us. No coincidence that Chelsea and Liverpool got a deal with RB pretty quickly for their players. Clubs love to drag it out for us.

Move on, leave them with an unhappy player and see if Benfica have any decent players for us

Also, people mentioning Laporte, if it’s going to be back up to Akanji, Stones, Dias, Ake then why not Harwood Bellis? Desperate to spend £86m on some cunt that shaves a line into his eyebrow in 2023 when we’ve got a City kid on the fringes

The only thing I can think of is that this player has a decent left foot so can play left-back if required as opposed to Harwood-Bellis who is right-footed.
However, your point is an excellent one and still stands.
PS Saw a crowd building up by The Rock the other day and I thought it was in anticipation of your long awaited stunt!

I don't think it's a mess. If they want more than we're willing to pay then no deal, walk away. Its business.

What is a mess is the total social media nonsense that surrounds every transfer these days. Now that is one mother and father of a mess!!

Txiki and Pep obviously think he’s much better than Harwood Bellis and can play left back as well.

I was wondering if it might be a bluff again to get the Rags or Scouse2 to pump 100 mill for a fella who may or may not be good. (we did put a few past them ).

Crazy when you think Eric Garcia got chance after chance when it was clear he was crap. Even when he said he was fuckin off home, Pep continued to give him chances.

Wonder why he refuses to do that with Harwood-Bellis..

Maybe in part because of Garcia.

And he has decided a CB needs to have experience rather than trust a rookie?

There will no doubt be a myriad of other reasons.

But I fully agree that until they are tried we’ll never know if they can be trusted. And as I’ve mentioned loads of times, it’s an area we are poor at and could do a lot better. Especially in games we are coasting in. That’s the time to give a few minutes here and there to give the young lads a taster. Lewis has shown you can make the step up in defence, albeit at full back and not centrally, but still.

The thing there is a hype about Gvardiol, he is considered the best young defender in the world, plus he is croatian and they have a reputation of being solid and serious.

Why do all our 'main' transfers, in or out, take an absolute fucking age. So much so that i really couldn't give a toss by the end of it.

Sane, Gundog, Milner, took months to confirm their departures. De Bruyne, Haaland, Grealish, GVardiol ? took an age to complete and get through the door.

The quick transfers seem to work just as well , Ake , Aguero, De Jong, Alvarez, Akanji.

Is it because at the top end of the price scale, we just haggle too much ? Be honest with the clubs or players , this is our top price, if you don't like it then fuck off

Isn't that what we just did ? told them our price and that was it ? Because he isn't at City and i can't see it happening now before the season starts.

I think he haggle over the structure of the payments rather than the price. We’ve known all summer he’s £86m.

I think if we’ve let RB get their replacements in before we announce it then more fool us.
