I've seen a rumour on Facebook that we're going to play a friendly against a Saudi League XI. Anyone know if there could be any truth to this? My guess is that, *if there's any truth to this*, it won't happen when we're over there for the Club World Cup, due to fixture congestion (unless it's a behind-closed-doors kickabout, which would be pointless for all parties). But there's the January break where there's potentially a window for it, especially now we're out of the League Cup.

The most dramatic fall in viewing figures coincides with Alex Scott replacing Dan Walker as Focus' main presenter in 2021. In Walker's last season before he was moved on the average weekly
August audience was 827,000, before dropping to 809,000 in 2021, 599,000 12 months later and
564,000 this year.

Notice today there is no main 4pm Mans Premier League kick off on Sky Sports the Prime spot weekend game. First time i can recall this ever happening in decades with Men's fixtures on going..

Not to be too upset they are showing a Womens Premier League Game at 1730 Pm kick off.

Obviously they are not getting the viewers they need to justify spending millions on content no one wants to watch.

So Sky are saying "You will fucking watch women's football, we will force you, or you will watch nothing else.

Really pissing me off.

The reason there is no 1630 Premier League game today is so that Sky viewers can watch the finale of the Ryder Cup. How many sports channels are there now? But Sky want to force their viewers to only watch one, that way they can get X amount of people watching the Ryder Cup and Y amount of viewers watching the football when it is on. If they were both on at the same time, even with viewers switching, the total amount of viewers would be less than X + Y. All to do with advertising revenue. Money is killing not just football but life itself, only very few will decide what the rest can and can't do and then they'll make a killing by providing the only means of doing it.

Quite agree Ayrshire Blue. I have banged on for years about the fact that football as a sport no longer exists and hasn't since the G14 moneymen beat the football interests in the 80s and early 90s.

Increasingly, the media moguls who fund football these days are defining when games are played to suit their audience and advertising budgets at the expense of genuine football fans.

Genuine fans who travel and attend games are no longer a major income source to clubs and a negative income source for the media. So are no longer considered.

Liverpool have vowed to "explore the range of options available" after claiming sporting integrity was undermined after Luis Diaz's goal was ruled out against Tottenham for what the PGMOL described as "significant human error".

Sky's revenue isn't really driven by advertising as they are a subscription based model.

I don't know for definite but I'd suggest the subscription revenue is far outweighed by the advertising revenue. Remember each Sky channel can advertise and look at how little time is spent on analysis at half time now, all adverts. As soon as they get a chance to show adverts they do. If subscription was their main revenue source they would do more to retain subscribers and keep them happy rather than paying £100 a year for an IPTV subscription.

A Q & A about what happens next!

One decision was incorrectly applied and the dippers had a goal wrongly chalked off. Do they offer to replay games when they get a soft as shite penalty awarded to them? No, they fucking don’t and it’s the same end result. One goal.

Anyone would think the world has ended the way they are bleating about it

Incredible, they asked the first red card to be overrun.
That was a leg breaker.

Of their £16b revenue a year only £1.5b comes from Advertising. I work for ITV billing ad revenue (our primary source of revenue) so for once its a subject I actually know what I am talking about.

Ad revenue is driven by 'eyeballs' the figures posted for subscription channels are tiny compared to free to air

That's my ideas put right then. Makes sense as you say when subscription numbers are much smaller than FTA that an advert on Sky One would cost much less than the same time on ITV. Thanks for the expert knowledge.

They're bringing it all though with a reduced subscription.

All the streamers are introducing some sort of advertising in the near future

Heard the audio ?

Pure incompetent but imo it shows they are quick to give the goal without checking! If that makes sense as they thought it stood, so not taking time to look at if a Liverpool goal was offside, thus showing favour to Liverpool

Stolen from our friends over at Ordsall Quays;

Rasmus Hojlund (20 years, 241 days) is the youngest player to score in his first two Champions League appearances since Erling Haaland in 2019 (19 years, 73 days).

So still behind Eling then?
