Season Ticket prices a reality check

Just been doing some digging around to do some like for like pricing with our competitors
My season ticket is south stand level 2 last year I paid £378 here are the comparables for behind the goal tier 2 or upper level prices

I think prices are going to have to go up

The money is not going to be there for ever remember last summer we did 4-5 windows worth of shopping in 1. The big money has been invested we are going to be expected to start to support ourselves more now.

I think they are more arsed about having a full ground than charging through the nose, particularly if they are considering expanding the stadium, the only way to fill a 60,000 + seat stadium would be to virtually give them away, as city fans by and large seem to be a really "not arsed" bunch these days when it comes to anything other than a glamour tie.

I for one would not be able to afford to take the 3 kids we take now if they increased out STs substantially, and there is hardly a waiting list despite all the transfer activity last season, so I dont see what they stand to gain by raising prices, as they would lose a lot of the goodwill and new, younger supporters they attracted this year

I agree with you I can see 400 this season which is still cheap

i get what you are saying mate but if you take the rags as an example their prices are high cos they have a debt to service we dont have that cos as far as i am aware old sheiky boy didn't lend us any money he gave it us.

I predict that over the next 5 years our season tickets will have incrementially increased to about £700. Its the price of success and Cook is an american trainined marketing executive. Its all about the $$$$$$ with a smile.

Do you work for the club PSut? Just wondering mate because you always come on with 'inside' type info, like your 'seating remaining reports.

And to follow that, are you giving us the inside script on rises to soften us up before the body blow of bigger ST prices?

They have had the the installments thing for years my mate has been doing it since we moved ground.

Maybe not, but if the UEFA rules comes in, we'll need to generate income. I expect a slow creep up, as it's still supply v demand. We haven't got the glory hunters like Chelsea etc yet, so we'd struggle to fill the ground. As the richer fans appear, the real fans will start to be priced out, just as they have at a lot of other grounds. A price of success, unfortunately.

Can I just clear one thing up about Gary Cooke. He started working for Nike in 1996.

The Nike 'Air Jordan' brand was established in the mid Eighties.

He eventually became international Brand manager after many years. It was announced that he would become
President of the Jordan brand in January 2008. He joined us that summer.

He joined us on a salary of 1.5 mill. I suspect much more than he was on at Nike, otherwise why would he join ?

The Nike experience has been very good to him but the Jordan brand was extremely successful before Cook got involved.

Although I use nike running shoes exclusively when i run and I do a lot of running, that's all i have ever used until recently when I bought some nike running clothing in the states at a price three times cheaper than here in Switzerland.

Secondly, having been in the US when Micheal Jordan was still at North Carlolina univ and having watched his career take off, to be honest with you , I think Al Bundy could have been successful flogging all things Jordan.

I have never bought any Jordan Items however.

No mate I dont work for the club, there are a few on here who can confirm that, the reason for the thread was I was sick of people whinging about price rises so i thought I would point out how cheap our season tickets are, I don't think they will go up or if they do then not by much one rumour I did hear was the plan was to increase capacity and reduce some prices to fill it.
As for tickets remaining I work from home and in bored moments I have been known to count how many are left on the os and if I am buying tkts in the office I look at the bit on the screen which says how many sold and how many left to try to keep people informed.

OK mate, but a 'No' would've sufficed ;-)

Personally, I can afford the tickets and think my £500 ST is worth every penny, especially when you take the child pricing into consideration. I worked out that it cost me and the 2 lads £14 each per game, which is very reasonable and a lot cheaper than other sporting events.

However, I know many who can't afford a ST so a big surge in prices (not saying they will of course) would lead to the prawn sandwich brigade taking over the place.

Prices in the whole of the PL should be coming down in my opinion, not ours going up.
