Stones played ahead of Philips as a holding midfielder when City won the treble.

Play Stones next to Rice, Walker at CB and TAA at right back.

Problem solved and Walker provides cover for Trent but allows him to attack.

I knew there was intelligence lurking on this site. I'd add Gordon and remove Saka. We have plenty that can go right. Saka flatters to deceive.

We drop Saka and there will be all manner of racist overtures. Honestly, as has already been pointed out, the team is unbalanced but start with swapping Bellend with Foden. TAA offers fuck all and stifles Stones coming out. Trippier is not a lb so put the kid in from Palace. Rice? Fuck me, if he needs Phillips beside him to make him shine, we have no hope. Play either Wharton or Manoo alongside Rice to give us some pace and intelligent passing options. Too many changes required which tells us all we should need to know a out the management. Quite shocking to be honest

Foden playing inside an overlapping left back can work. Trippier is so right footed it isn’t true. Result that side of the pitch doesn’t work at all.

Could actually just drop Rice. He isn't that good. His piss poor pass to Guéhi, got the latter in trouble, fortunately he has the speed to rectify his mistakes, a Walker trait

As i think Nickyboy says, trent to right back walker central with stones Guéhi on the left . You have speed and skill going into midfield. Bench Rice , phil and bellend midfield. A left winger ( i think he's called Gorden, gareth) and either of Saka or Palmer on the right . Oh , and don't start Kane, let him come on after 70 minutes so that he understands he has to play as a striker and not as a slow error prone, extra midfielder. He gave the Danes their goal with a horrible cross midfield pass to no one . The media politely forgot to call him out for that stupidity. Even schoolboys don't make that kind of mistake

I’m not too fussed - but why not have Stones stepping into midfield where Trent is, drop Trent, and have Palmer left and move Foden in the middle

Might as well throw all the names in the hat mate - 1 st one out is goalie then the next one is left back and so on and so forth.

I hope we lose the next match - I honestly do, as I'm sick to fucking death of seeing that gimp of a manager open his mouth....His Kevin Phillips comment made my mouth open, motionless, for an hour.
