So, what is up with him?

Head up his own arse, overrated, he's been found out?

Disliked him as a player, but sad to see what is happening to him at Chelsea

why feel sorry for him? if you weren't delivering at work, you'd get sacked. he also has 3 year to run on an £18m/yr contract.
and lets not forget how, when he was in form, his agent forced his was out of the dippers to come to us...

That's life as a professional footballer

My sympathy with players like Sterling, who are in the PL on wages 99% of the country can only dream about, extend yo absolutely fuck all.

If he is that desperate to play he will relinquish his contract and sign for someone else. After all, he is already a multi millionaire and has no financial concerns. If he wants to see out his contract and not play then that is his privilege and right, but he then has no grounds to complain.

I do however for balance, have sympathy to a degree with players at the lower echelons of the pyramid who only get 1/2 year contracts and have shorter shelf lives as footballers. Or young players coming through whose passages are blocked by clubs signing shite from abroad for silly money who are often no better

Feel sad because he was City and did a decent job at times for us.
I wish him to get in a place and play and do good.

He had a couple of seasons for us where he was class, to be fair.

I don’t feel sorry for any footballer on £300k a week though. Wish him all the best

Pep worked hard on him but gave up in the end. Always a tendency to miss a sitter or one on one, but we had so many chances in those days, he bagged his share. Fond of running straight into defenders and giving ball away.

Lots to say when he went to Chelsea.

No sympathy from me, but I'll give him a bit more respect if he takes a much lower paid offer at another club to get the games he seems to think he deserves

No squad number I would be on gardening leave for 3 years getting full pay, no way would I be forced out

Very true
But Sterling is 29. A player who hasn't played a minute for 3 years when he is 32 at the end of the contract never kicks a ball professionally again.

Not to say it's right or wrong for a player to see out a contract but that's the reality

Chelsea have shafted him, id defo do the winston bogarde method if i was him.

He was frustrating at city but he had his moments. Assist on last day against villa for gundo gets forgotten very easy. At same time, him starting the cl final against chelsea cost us that game but that wasnt his fault.

You know, id take him back as alvarez replacement if he accepted the role but also if he we didnt have to pay his wages or fee. None of that will happen but he would be an excellent back up for us.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The guy has a new worth of £34M of the kings money.

He can afford a cut in his salary and get game time.

Absolutely. But it’s not his fault Chelsea are offering out these ridiculous contracts for years. They need to learn at some point that their business model is fucked.

I didn’t like his complaining after he left the Club but that was some time ago. He had a good period at the Club and then a much less good spell. We never missed him tbh.

Can’t see his popularity improving if he ends up at the rags in a swap for Sancho. Probably just gossip that deserves its place in Chinners bollox but it’s the sort of move that might suit all parties.

Chelsea would benefit, they get rid of a player not in their plans for a youngr version with a point to prove

Sterling benefits from still keeping his salary, getting a hefty signing on fee and playing again

His agent benefits from a brokerage fee

The rest of the PL benefit, especially us as we can chortle at how it turns out

The rags however don't benefit as they swap a 23 year old for a 29 year with little sell on value and by the end of the season have realised they have another dud on their hands

United are not going to pay Sterling 300k a week and neither will anyone else ( except possibly the Saudis and he doesn’t want to go there). Would Chelsea subsidise his wages at United? That’s a tough ask! So if he goes on loan to United he’d have to accept a massive cut in wages. Chelsea would have to make a massive pay off to Sterling for his contract if he’s sold. A loan looks more likely somewhere but Sterling would have to compromise very significantly on the wage issue.

Still wish him well - did some brilliant stuff for us and scored 131 goals in 339 appearances, which is obviously loads. Probably one of our top scorers of all time. Pep is ruthless and he found that out but it doesn't take away some very good years.

Wouldn't like to see him in red.
All we are saying is give Doug a pass.

Another unwanted Chelsea player is Ben Chilwell. As a genuine left back, could he be useful for us, presuming he will be cheap ?
