View from the Away End - Carabao Cup

Postby CuteMancs » Tue Sep 24, 2024 9:53 am

I am still processing the fact that Rodri may well be out for the rest of the season, and not really in the mood for another game tonight. There is no difference in these comments to any for our premier league games, maybe they are just a little bit more pessimistic. I am staying home for this one, but still hope to celebrate a win at 10 o’clock.

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Robert Jones
Assistants: Darren Cann and Adrian Holmes
Fourth Official: Martin Atkinson

Team Selection

Bond
Ebosele Pollock Sierralta Porteous Larouci
Louza Dele-Bashiru Sissoko
Baah Bayo

And the rest…

Very rich, cheating club with grubby, human rights abusing owners v club with grubby owners. A pointless fixture cooked up to keep the big boys in the competition as long as possible. Just give City a bye and save us the misery, ticket cost and petrol money.

I'm not even going to predict a score, but it will be Man City (something) Watford (nothing).

115 – 0

We’d have to beat them in the final to win it anyway, may as well get them out of the way now.

You'd imagine City will have to rest most of their starting XI from yesterday so we should avoid getting battered by six plus, perhaps we'll be lucky and keep the loss down two or three. If Haaland for some reasons starts then I genuinely fear how many our defence will concede…City with Haaland 7-0 Watford - City without Haaland 3-0 Watford.

I hope we batter the soulless club, we won't but I can always live in hope.

Maybe it's time to play the formation displayed in Watford's pre-match social media graphics. Four in goal, four in defence and three in midfield. No need for any strikers, just play for a penalty shoot-out.

City spend more on Lawyers' wages to fend of the points deduction than we do on paying our players.

Anyone attending this needs professional help.

They've come out incredibly butthurt and in their feelings all over the media in the wake of the Arsenal draw - they seem rattled in a way they basically haven't previously under Pepple.
Accusing another team of using 'dark arts' en masse is both so clearly choreographed and unbelievably laughable, given how rotational fouling and the other associated 'dark arts' have been the recognisable stock in trade of this City incarnation on the pitch just as much as off it. Not sure whether this means we will be given a historic spanking even by the metrics of a team given a record-equalling historic spanking by them in the final of the world's oldest cup competition in front of millions of viewers, or whether it might help us achieve a heroic loss of 3 goals or fewer. Either way, we should remember that we are a fairly shyt Championshyt team and give them according treatment. 'Dark arts', indeed.

Well we'll just have to get on with it. One season KDB was crocked early on (deliberatel, by Everton) and we thought it was the end of the world - but it wasn't and we won the league. Best to get Sunday out of the system with a hopefully comfortable win

Strikes me that in today's Britain, if you call someone by the wrong pronoun or use descriptive words for 'foreigners' that have been used for centuries, you have the police knocking on the door. But every ignorant fan and club owner can use blatant and severe racism all the time against our owners without anything even being raised.

If we are still waiting on news on Rodders, doubt we would risk Kova / Gundo. Rest Bernie play nunes and mcatee foden false 9. Savio and Grealish need game time - maybe move Grealish inside. We have plenty options for a front 6 though if we do rest Haaland, I'd be concerned about goals. Important game from a mentality perspective someone needs to show up in place of Rodders

Cheers CM

Watford fans at the Cup Final were a very decent lot. These must be Arsenal fans masquerading at Watford fans

Yeah I spoke to a few and they seemed sound.

Some absolute helmets on that post though. Imagine calling another club “soulless” when you’re only known for Elton John.
