We did it with Phillips. We did it with Nunes. £100m down the shitter. Wait until there’s a genuine player that could do the job and then go for them.

wharton from palace in january

He’s played about 10 Prem games and is no better than Lewis. If we wanna fuck away £80m then we should definitely go for it.

This is where we will land imho. Got lucky that we at least have Gundo back. No-one out there who could replace Rodders

We failed to do that. Our own fault for this, no one else. Reminds me of our defensive fuck up in 2019-20.

Imagine our midfiled without our late addition of Gundog with Rodri and Kevin out and the amount of fixtures ahead.
Very, very sloppy.

Fair warning? There were alarm bells and sirens ringing at huge decibels and we did fuck all.
It seems like, "Ah we have Pep if we lose a few players, he'll come up with something" shrug the shoulders type of attitude.

I am not 100% convinced Pep didn't have a say in that. Look at our left back situation in his regime.

Rodri has 3 years left on his current contract. He was telling his Spanish teammates at the Euros "he couldn't move to Spain because of his City contract". He is giving no signs of extending with us.

If we assume Rodri is out for this season with his serious injury, we will likely have max. 2 more years of him?

We should be getting his replacement in ASAP, to fill a void this season and so Rodri can be given more protection and rest in the remaining time of his contract.

I do agree with this but this would point to an up and coming player and / or someone not used to playing that role. I'd also hope that we had someone junior at the club already. Either way, we're negligent if we don't look to a future without Rodders

I wouldn't believe a word that cunt Carvajal was saying.
With him being Atletico, I can't see him as a traitor.
Plus, in 3 years he will be 31. On his position, with the modern type of football, it is quite hard to keep up at the top level.

PS: Nice touch from a few european clubs on their social media, most of all Inter.
Surprised by that.

What we’re looking at is an extension of Rodri’s contract. Perfect time to show loyalty to him. He’s only 28.

Pep confirms the worst. Rodri out for the season. We just have to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps. Good time to offer him a renewal of his contract.

We do not have any choice other than to try and sign a midfielder in January.

why would we want to offer a contract extension before we know if he will make a full recovery?

Pep even gloomier about Rodri. Says players usually have muscular problems the season after being out for nine months. As to January Pep says they have time to see how they manage before making a transfer decision. I agree that City are more likely to go into the market in January now. Recalling Phillips is not a solution as City have already confirmed!

Cue everyone on standby to put their asking price up but we don't have a choice if we want to go with a dm. Just looked and Zubimendi at Sociiedad is 25. He'd be my shout

Why would we doubt that Rodri will recover? He’s only 28. This is the time to support him.

It doesn’t rain but it pours, Kevin out for the Newcastle match and Pep didn’t seem very confident that he’d even be back before the international break. Pep agreed that Kovacic plus Rico or Stones is quite likely to feature as an alternative to Rodri. Double pivot and no Kevin doesn’t scream creativity.

Rico has to play at rb now. Gives us more creativity in the middle and would also allow us to get gundo in there sat behind erling with Phil. I'd also look to move jackie boy in from the wing. Not the worst set of fixtures between now and jan if we could limp through
