Game 3 in the revised format and Sparta Prague are the visitors to the Etihad. Don't really know a lot about them to be honest but they also have a win and a draw from their first two matches

Hopefully we will see some changes in the midfield though KDB is still not ready apparently

2-0 Haaland and Gvardiol

Pep has said in his interview that he’s annoyed Walker has come back injured from England. Said that the most he’s ever been annoyed was when Stones came back last March injured from a friendly when we had Madrid.

RE: Walker, his Mrs had just filed for divorce so I imagine he’s “injured”.

Walker is indeed injured. Knee problem picked up on England duty. Kevin training a bit better but doesn’t feel 100 per cent so he’s out too. Pep said he doesn’t want to take any chances because he’s in his thirties. No forecast on return date. Worrying. A doubt about Doku who apparently missed training. Ake and Akanji fit to play. Rico and Grealish nailed on to start.

Pep suggested Bobb wouldn’t be back till January or February which is much later than everyone was hoping. He’s not very reliable about return dates. Let’s hope.

Whilst I don't wish walker's marital woes on him, he has no excuse. Self-inflicted. Imagine that he will have some sort of pre-nup in place that avoids him getting fleeced again, if not, no excuse. That said, we should cope tonight and Saturday without him

Same here - It’s a piss take .
I’m not interested in this game or any like it , the CL has managed to become even more laughable than before they decided to include losers in the format .

They should 100% change the fucking name .

Got to agree and said the same last game. If your objective is to have the match going fans lose interest to replace them with happy tourists its working - well done

Its an absolutely stupid format. I really do not see any benefit it it whatsoever. Its not a true league when all teams do not play each other, the older format while also being horrifically shite was more tolerable.

I'm in a minority but I quite like it.

There is an obvious mis-match with some of the shite teams now in it but I think there are some better class games matching the better teams together and it gives a bit of variety playing 8 different teams.

At the end of the day the last 16 isn't going to have too many surprises in it and the tournament proper will begin from the quarterfinals when it really gets interesting - but that's pretty much always been the case in the modern era of the European cup.

They should go back to calling it that now as its far from the 'champions' league.

I like not playing the same teams in the group year after fuckin year.

And I bet we struggle again tonight against a so called poor team

3 nil up by half time. Hanging on like grim death at 3-2 by the 90th minute

Your City side to face Sparta Prague!

XI | Ortega Moreno, Lewis, Stones, Akanji, Ake, Gundogan, Bernardo (C), Nunes, Savinho, Foden, Haaland

SUBS | Ederson, Carson, Dias, Kovacic, Gvardiol, O'Reilly, McAtee

Ok, didn't see that coming!

5 outfielders on the bench surely we must have some youth who would benefit from match day experience
