It's a sight to behold Neal mate.

Just watching his interaction with pep when nunes scored the peno and he's on thr bench.

He obviously shouted over to pep and said "Hey, that would have been my hatrick!"

And then had a laugh about it.

That's what it's all about. The harmony is unreal

He's often felt like an excellent asset in the wrong system. If he keeps adapting and playing for the team, he'll be an excellent squad member.

I'm still way off on him being class for us in fairness 8-)

Like most have said, I’d given up on him. But if he can come good it’ll be like a new signing. The fact Kev isn’t getting any younger and Rodri is out for pretty much the season means he’ll definitely get his chances and we saw on Sunday if he works hard he’s got the ability.

Funny game, shit first half despite overwhelming possession, second half different gravy. Sparta seemed naively suckered into followingvus backwards to our goal and leaving acres of space for us to exploit. Much better to watch us breaking on the attack than tippy tappy. Our positioning at corners is mostly shite. Why congest the goal line with 20 players? Better off spreading far and wide in the box and running onto a cross. Haaland's acrobatics for his goal , amazing. I liked his second as well, great interchanges. I wonder how many times Haaland has been pulled when he's on a hattrick? All about ruthless squad management and giving players game time but sometimes you think 'come on Pep the guy lives for goals' - until he scored that goal he was largely missing again. Thought Nunes was excellent, much more productive than Foden despite Phil's early goal. Great result but Liverpool absolutely spanked Sparta last year and this year most teams will do the same so it puts it into perspective. Game stats on possession seem to be deliberately underrecoding City's dominance. On to Southampton Happy night. Still thinking Haalands goal was a fluke

I don’t think Kova and Gundo together works. I’d try Gundo and Nunes - a lot more energy

Gundo was still poor to be honest. Slightly better.

I'm probably alone in this, but I'm not sure the flying backheel goal was any more than an attempt to make contact vaguely in the right direction. Some you win......

Gundo was poor again, you're right. Silva was as well. The only players who stood out were Nunes, Rico and Silvinho.

Of course it was, it's like bicycle kicks, you have a go and it occasionally comes off. Or like the worldies that 99 times out of a 100 end up in the stands.

But you've got to give Erling credit for trying it.

Similar to his one two years ago against Dortmund. At least it was off his boot, and not his shin like Rooney

I never thought in a million years that I'd write these words, but "Nunes had a good game"......there I've written it. He's strong in the tackle, fast, has obvious skill, the only thing he is lacking is a football brain. With more performances like that his confidence will grow and maybe he'll turn into a great player. He's obviously well liked by his team mates. Wouldn't it be great if he did turn out to be a winner !!

Tell that to the media, who collectively thought Rooney's goal , scored by using Alan Oaks style, telephone book shin pads, was the best thing since sliced bread.
