Ex-ballon d'or, ex-City player gives the ballon d'or to Rodri, current City player.

What a time to be alive.
Not in my lifetime, eh you old fuck?

The more they do this the more we know they’re in pain. I love it.

Piss aside, what happened yesterday perfectly captures why I've gone from loving this game to almost despising it. Many of us were lucky enough to grow up in eras where absolute legends played, and fair play was embedded in the DNA of every club. If it weren't for City, I might have walked away from this game that seems to have lost everything I once loved about it.

Dont care much for these over hyped awards. But I saw what Real Madrid did, throwing their rattlers out of the pram, childish. What a bunch of over entitled twats. Horrible club, hate them nearly as much as I hate the rags.

But if a City player wins this it’s huge for the club. Shows other players they don’t need to go to a Real Madrid to be recognised as the best in the world. Haaland can sign that extension. The publicity will be big for us.

The main thing is that it shows the tide is turning with journalists and people involved in football. Slowly, but surely.

I can get that point of view.

Brilliant and well deserved for Rodri

As for Real, they can only be described as Real wankers.

Interesting how you don't hear his record mentioned. How many games unbeaten for City are there now with him? Over 60?
During that time we played Madrid 4 times.

Agree completely with the first bit, Mase. However, the award is voted for by journalists from 100 different countries. If it was 100 English journalists the tide would not be turning at all...

In a sane world Spain would celebrate winning both the male and female ballons d’or, the young player of the year and winning the European Championships. A golden year by any standard. Instead of which the shameful behaviour by Real Madrid has divided the Country.

Can we protest Bellingham being 3rd and Foden 11th.
Stats last season in the league. Bellingham 19 goals 6 assists
Foden 19 goals 8 assists.

Different Luis Suarez. The Spanish one won the Balloon d'Or in 1960 and played with Barcelona and Inter.

As far as I know it's a straight vote. Whoever you like, fuck all to do with stats. Which is why I'm shocked.
