Married Manchester City star Carlos Tevez in sex scandal
Carlos Tevez flew his secret lover halfway round the world for a 2am hotel tryst – on the day his premature baby was allowed home from hospital.
Man City star Tevez, 26, sneaked into glamour model Mariana Paesani’s hotel room as his on-off partner Vanesa nursed their baby Katie, born six weeks early, 7,000 miles away.
The hotel meeting came at the climax of a week of complicated planning by £30million striker Tevez, whose childhood sweetheart Vanesa is recuperating from Katie’s traumatic birth.
Tevez made a frantic dash last month to be by Vanesa and the baby’s hospital bedside after little Katie’s arrival in his Argentinian home city of Buenos Aires, saying his family came first.
Tevez spent 12 days with Katie in intensive care as she fought for life.
The £100,000-a-week striker had to leave last weekend to join the Argentina national team in Munich… and 31-year-old Mariana joined him on the flight.
Since news broke of Katie’s traumatic birth, acres of newsprint have been devoted to coverage of her and Vanesa’s well-being – and Tevez’s resulting row with Man City boss Roberto Mancini over his absence from the club. Every report referred to Vanesa being Tevez’s wife, with not one being denied or corrected by Tevez’s publicity adviser.
But yesterday, in a development which will come as a surprise to many, Tevez’s aides insisted he had split from Vanesa six months ago, when she was two months’ pregnant.
This would mean, as a single man he is free to date whoever he wants without risk of being branded a hypocrite for this week hitting out at love cheat ex-England captain John Terry for having “no moral code”.

But last night in Buenos Aires, Tevez’s father Raimundo insisted that the player and Vanesa were still very much a couple. He said: “Yes they are still together. They are both in Argentina at their house, they were here yesterday.”
The “split” will also come as news to Mancini, who granted Tevez permission to go to Argentina to see his wife and child, then grew exasperated that he couldn’t contact Tevez or find out where he was.
Vanesa, who sources say remains devoted to Tevez, still lives under the same roof as him and was with him at his Cheshire mansion until four days before the birth.
Mariana, meanwhile, is a former football cheerleader who has boasted: “I am insatiable with men – I always want to meet a new one. When I want to have a good time with a boy I turn into a goddess.”
A source close to Tevez, said: “Carlos takes care to pay cash when arranging Mariana’s travel. Tickets, chauffeurs, hotels – it’s all done in cash as if he’s keen to hide it.
“His wife is at home in Argentina recovering from a traumatic birth and he is in Europe with his lover with literally wads and wads of cash in his bag.
“Poor Vanesa will be upset. She is at a low ebb after all she has been through and Carlos is still the love of her life. Discovering what he has been up to this week will devastate her.”
Vanesa was staying with Tevez at his £3million rented home in Cheshire, but on February 9, she flew home to Buenos Aires to visit family.
Unexpectedly she went into labour four days later. Katie was born by emergency caesarian weighing just 4lb.
Tevez was given compassionate leave by Man City and dashed to Buenos Aires to be at his newborn daughter’s side.
With Katie well enough to be moved from intensive care, he returned to the UK 12 days later.
Vanesa and the couple’s daughter Florencia, four, stayed at Tevez’s family mansion on the edge of the city, where neighbours were yesterday surprised to hear of Vanesa and Tevez’s “split”.
As he left Buenos Aires, Tevez told reporters emotionally: “I have lived the last few days only for my daughter. Each day I was at the hospital to feed her.”
And in a swipe at Mancini Tevez added: “With family affairs, football takes a back seat.”
Yet Tevez was at that moment arranging for Mariana to join him in the first-class cabin of BA flight 246 to Heathrow. Her £2,900 ticket was paid for in cash at the last minute. His seat was booked much earlier by Manchester City.
Tevez and Mariana boarded the flight a few minutes apart – but had arranged for her to be in the seat behind his. Once airborne, it became clear to cabin crew that the pair were travelling together.
A source said: “As soon as the doors were shut, he was turning around talking to her. After a while, she was sitting with him. They ended up all over each other like a love-struck young couple. At one point she was sitting on his lap as he stroked her hair, kissing her.
“But when the flight landed, he raced off ahead. She was waiting in a corridor to kill time. It was all very cloak and dagger. They appeared desperate NOT to be seen together.”
Tevez was whisked away to Man City’s London hotel ahead of their clash with Chelsea the next day. The match was the first time serial love-rat Terry had come face to face with Man City’s Wayne Bridge, whose ex-partner Vanessa Perroncel had had an affair with Terry.
And at the same time Tevez’s lover was waiting in a hotel room to meet him after the game.
The pair spent the night in London then left on Sunday for Munich for an Argentina friendly with Germany.
They boarded separately, but sat next to each other in business class. Again, they avoided each other after their flight touched down.
Mariana was driven on her own to the five star Kempinski Hotel – a short walk from the Argentinian team’s base, the Mandarin Oriental.
While Tevez trained for his match she went shopping. On Wednesday night she watched Tevez play and returned to her hotel at 11pm. Then at 2.20am Tevez walked to her hotel, sauntered sheepishly into the
lobby and scanned the area before getting into the lift.
Two minutes later, with his hood pulled up over his head and looking around furtively, he knocked on her door.
She opened it and sighed then giggled as he stepped inside. As dawn broke, the pair emerged bleary-eyed.
They walked out of the hotel as dawn broke and climbed into a waiting car which drove them to Munich airport, where they flew to Madrid.
With immaculate timing, on the same morning, Tevez was quoted in a newspaper telling shamed John Terry: “I don’t think you can do that with the wife of another player. In my opinion, Terry has no moral code for what he did.”
From Madrid, Tevez and Mariana flew back to Buenos Aires.
Late on Friday afternoon he posed for pictures outside his home cradling Katie as Vanesa looked looking for all the world like his loyal wife.
Mariana reportedly had a fling with Tevez in 2008 when he was with Manchester United.
He was seen hand-in-hand with her on a golf course near his then
Cheshire home. It was reported that he had split with Vanesa because of the pictures. But he managed to patch things up and they put on a united front at a charity gala in Manchester a week later.
In 2004, Tevez had a six-month fling with Argentinian model Natalia Fassi, who claimed he two-timed her with Vanesa, who then fell pregnant with Florencia. Tevez and Vanesa then got back together.
Tevez is expected back in Manchester tomorrow.
