Haaland. Is it time to cash in?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

He looks absolutely nackered. His pressing yesterday was non existent and in the second half barely made any runs. He needs a rest as hes burnt out.

I also noticed when doku has the ball wide haaland doesnt bother moving or bursting to get in the box. I dont blame him doku doesnt know what hes going to do let alone haaland and inevitably he never gets a pass off him so why bother to move? Noticeable difference when jack came on before they equalised, in those few mins he made all his old runs.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Scored 10 in the first 5 games and has scored 3 in the next 11.

And most of these games he's played the full 90. Dubciteh is correct when he says he's knackered and needs a break. Problem is who is his replacement?

It's incredible how we let Alvarez walk and did nothing to get a replacement, its just unbelievable. An inexcusable act of gross stupidity by the club.
And now were really paying for it.

How can Haaland be knackered?. He may look like it but he should have energy to burn. He's young, fit and does fuck all at the moment. I'd like to see his match stats on yards run, passes etc he's fucking coasting through 90 mins. Nearly every centre back has snuffed him out this season. The style of play, slow advance short passes etc doesn't suit him and he clearly is doing fuck all running to create a space. . Out of curiosity I reckon Lewandoski at 36 would be out performing Haaland because he's a better footballer
If we don't change our style of play we might as well sell Haaland and then watch him bang goals in elsewhere.
All I see is that Pep has ruined an awful lot of good footballers compared to those that he's significantly improved

Haaland plays every game. No rotation. Thats why hes knackered. Same with Gundogan and Bernardo. Same with Rico who will benefit from his short rest although we could have done with him yesterday.

Not sure there’s anyone at the club who can consistently put a decent cross in other than KDB and he has kind of lost interest

Service to Haaland has been abysmall.

In fact we are slow and rely upon creating chances vs defences which are prepared for us the whole time. When we get the ball in defence, we are slow as fuck in building the attack most of the time. Too much emphasis on keep ball.

Got Doku that doesn’t cross. Does that stupid leg wiggle and then cuts inside for a shit shot. Savio beats someone then goes back to try and beat them again. At least Grealish doesn’t lose the ball

Doku. He has so much possession with no end product. If Jack cannot get in this City team, he needs to move on. Haaland needs service. Pep the coaches and team are a mess.

I literally disagree with nearly every post you make. Think this might be a first for me on this forum after all this time.

If you cant see why Haaland might be nackered then nothing i will say will change ur mind.

May not be an issue for much longer, but Doku only looks to get the ball to KDB. We have become too slow and predictable. We MUST buy 2 full backs with pace. Agree re Grealish he is not a winger never should be and he should be playing as a 10. Haaland needs service. We should set up with a false 9 with our style because it certainly does Haaland no favours

Haaland is getting bullied by two defenders every single game. Hes basically having a wrestling match every game we play. Hes sulks like a mard cunt, but I get it. He needs support - that’s either an Alvarez type that will buzz about occupying defenders to leave space for Erling or players behind him that will play the ball quickly into space behind for him to run onto.

Correct.
And neither option is likely to happen with our current squad and set up. And isn’t likely to any time soon

I feel like Foden and Erling have a decent on field relationship and often look for each other in the attacking 3rd. There were (very short) glimpses of good link up with them and KDB yesterday.

It may be an idea to shove Foden right up with him in a kind of roving false 9 position and try to occupy more defenders and free up space - Let Foden play with the shackles off and more naturally - I just don't think Pep has it in him to allow a bit more freedom of expression.

With Alvarez we had a World class operator. Another mistake. Check his stats A Madrid. He will only get better. Foden should never be on the ball as our last man as I watched yesterday. WTAF is that about. On Haaland he will do a Rodri sooner or later, he’s being flogged in a shit shape of a team. Yesterday was us doing the same thing until we shoot ourselves in the foot again. When the kid made the run for the second goal that was in front of us the whole CB level 2 saw it, how a run of a defenders hoof leads to a goal defies logic at this level. Utterly ridiculous performance from us.

Yes also agree. I know I keep saying it but cross the ball and take decent corners not the useless short ones that often just end up going bacwards with no goal threat. The complete emphasis on possession is killing our goal threat the players are scared of loosing the ball.

Silly debate, absolutely not, we need to add to our arsenal not dismantle. We need options, we're becoming one dimensional team.

Problem is , Pep has said and I quote “I’ll never change the way I want to play “

That’s why we have lost 8 out of 11 and before the pep fan club come out and say it’s because of injuries I’ll also quote pep “ it’s my fault “

I have no idea how he’s going to change this shit fest if he’s not prepared to change - Haaland is a passenger , no one can cross the ball , outrageous as that sounds , no one apart from KDB can put that ball onto his head .
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"
