Game Management

I am aware that Pep thinks the cupboard is bare and that our defence is not blessed at the moment, but surely we can manage a player feeling a muscle pull during a game without it turning into a 3 or 4 week lay off? Apparently Dias felt a twinge on 70 mins against utd but carried on to fuck himself further.
At that stage we were 1 nil up, did we have anyone on the bench to cover ? Would I still be moaning if he came off. I'd probably say he was a soft bastard.
One step forward 2 back it seems

We had Simpson-Pusey, who seems competent enough

Doesn't matter who is on the bench if you do something stupid like give a penalty away. It is not about game management at all , it's about players being thick and doing stupid things.

The team are following instructions, they are pressing too high without cover, when they are pressed, they panic . If they eased off, played a little more negatively rather than committing everyone forward they would do better - that is Pep and how he manages the game from start to finish and how he manages his bench or not.
As a couple have said, we had 2 options on the bench that could have saved Dias from yet another injury.
Stupid penalty yes but another injury to add to the list.

If you look back to mistakes we have made which resulted in a give away goal, a lot stem from overcomplicating the game.
