Tony Book RIP

Postby Harry Dowd scored » Tue Jan 14, 2025 12:05 pm

Just heard the devasting news that
@ManCity
icon Tony Book has sadly passed away aged 90, a man who has been there, seen it and done at all at City while having a huge impact on so many young players careers with his mentorship and advice, not just in football

Just saw this on Twitter sad news indeed RIP Tony

Rip Tony. Served the club for many years. Though a late starter, became a winning manager, coach and then warm up man

Not only a great captain but the last man to manage us to a trophy before the Sheikh took over with the 76 League Cup Final win.

Always used to watch him doing keeper warm ups in front of me before matches at Maine Rd. White haired old bloke just effortlessly pinging in perfect cross after perfect cross. Remember asking my dad who he was

Scum & dippers at the British Biased Corporation deliberately disrespecting a City great. No report yet hours after the OS Obituary was published. Still straplining "Guardiola Throws Walker Under A Bus" on their main Sport and Football pages. Utterly contemptible, :evil:

I found it within another story - think it was the article that you referenced about Walker. Agreed, they never fail to hide their bitterness doesn't excuse it though.

I saw Andy Morrison and Stuart Pearce lifting trophies for us when I was a kid?

I was at Wembley 99 and was there for Pearce's last game when he blazed that penalty over the bar.
Don't think either stopped the 35 years and won fuck all chants.
