It’s not about ‘one bad season in five’ - he’s clearly lost the plot. Ferguson had bad seasons for United, he didn’t play Roy Keane at LB or continue playing Robson even though he was past it. If Pep was playing the correct players and looking to change tactics then yeah it’s a no brainer for him to stay. Hes not though, and his persistence with Nunes at RB and his personal vendetta against Grealish - it’s all a bit weird as fuck.

He needs a break before he ruins the club

I am not trying to pick a fight but seriously you think he has lost the plot? He has experienced personal issues and no doubt that has had to have an affect on his work. It would be the same for most people.
Added to this there are the many other issues, all widely known and discussed to death. Its the perfect storm.

Nunes actually did ok at right back yesterday, he does try. Who else can play there Rico? He has made some poor defensive howlers, and at the moment its 50/50 which one is the better option.

Personal vendetta against Grealish? Think that is a bit strong. Havent seen any evidence of that unless ive missed something?

He wont ruin the club, cant imagine Kaldoon sitting back and allowing that to happen.

Were not going to win this world club thing, and personally I think its a stupid pointless tournament a distraction we dont really need. So its all about what happens next season. He will be given the summer and the start of next season. if we carry on with this shit-show in September October then he will get the break you have suggested.

If you can see it mate then there’s something seriously wrong with you. The stuff he’s said this season is beyond bizarre and some of his decisions have been ridiculous. This season we’ve seen him scratch himself to the point it’s visible in his post-match interview. His constant rolling his spit is another sign.

The issues in his private life are clearly effecting him. He needs a break.

It's a no from me still

Yes he's the manager, yes he's responsible for what happens on the pitch, and yes he makes some extremely strange decisions. But behind it all is a massive red flag around why the squad was not refreshed in the aftermath of the CL win where we should have been doubling down on our domination.

Even without the benefit of hindsight, it was so obviously a mistake even 18 months ago while we were still winning, I have to assume that this was a conscious decision on the part of many capable people in the club with context we likely will never know about until Pep writes his next book. While it's possible the club were listening to Pep saying we didn't need to replace x or y, we know enough about the long-term orientation of the owners that the club would prioritise its long-term future over a manager who hadn't committed beyond a year.

Playing Nunes at right back and even Gvardiol at left back smacks of Pep making a very clear point to someone in the club that they have fucked up big time. He's not without blame, his system of play stinks - but there's more going on than meets the eye with all this!

No. Still not close to a yes for me.

The Nunes brush to beat him with is odd, who else would u play there? Lewis? No chance. The blame should be with walker our captain for fucking off halfway through a season. Our second choice Akanje injured, our next choice stones injured.

Remember we played yesterday without two of the best players in the world in their position rodri and haaland. Stones is a huge miss too.

That said, Pep has made a tonne of mistakes this year but has enough credit in the bank to get another season next season and we re evaluate this time next year.

Walker has been fading for years. It’s Pep choice to have not replaced him and the reason he’s playing Nunes now

Last time, I voted "NO".
Now, I voted "yes". Even if I trust him with signings, I don't trust his system anymore, and I think his stubbornness, which I am convinced is arrogance, will stop him from adapting it.

That is the key for me. If he had shown any desire to adapt to change, it would have been a "100% YES" for me.

Nunes had a reasonable game. A couple of really good defensive headers stood out. With Akanji out he’s probably our best bet at RB at the moment. Bernardo played deep to cover his forays ahead. He didnt do much going forward but no one else did either. Grealish came on and did little.

It is well known that calling a player stupid in public is considered exceptional man management.

I think the word stupid wasn’t quite what he meant. If you look at the context he meant calm with opposition players buzzing about you. He made the same criticism of Phillips. We will buy an RB and Nunes is not going to play midfield either. Conclusion Nunes is for sale this coming window.

Of course, he didn't say he was literally stupid; he said he didn't have the brain for it.
And, of course, the media used this.

But, didn't he bring Nunes? You bring someone and you say he doesn't have the football brain for it?
Also, how can you react as a footballer when your manager is saying to the world that you don't have the brain to play on the position City brought you in?

Would you go the next day and play for him or would you want him to fuck off?

Another point to consider. Do you watch football for entertainment or to win? We've done both in recent years

But I can honestly say, sometimes watching us play is boring. There's no taking a risk. KDB in recent years is the only guy consistently trying adventurous things and you got the impression Pep didn't like it. The number of times the ball is passed sideways and backwards in the name of ball retention is ridiculous.

And this is on Pep. And is he likely to change? Personally I don't think he can change his philosophy or indeed wants to.

Nunes should keep his place, he's the best we've got. Not since the heady days of Bernie covering at left back have we seen such inventives ways of trying to stop our opponents from scoring. His position in the team is secured on comedic value alone. Pep doesn't value defensive qualities in a team. Possession is his method of defending. In reality Pep doesnt know what his best team is and the football served up has been dire and often dull. Exciting only for the wrong reasons. New talent is paraded and then not used or bastardised. We had a pacy right sided defender on the bench, he should have played. We had a creative wide player, who was excellent in the game before, Grealish should have played. Foden is off the pace something clearly amiss, shouldnt have started. KDB not a centreforward, had a shit game, the experiment failed early but we had to watch it for 90 mins. Pep gets the big bucks , he carries the can. I cant see any glimmers of it improving

Im a big fan of Khusanov but if Pep plays full backs high and wide he isn’t the man to play RB. He’s a proper defender and none the worse for that. We need a RB in the summer who can defend as well as attack. Sorry Kyle your time is well past.

Khusanov is not a fullback. We need to stop dicking about with half baked full-backs. We need out and out right back in the summer.
