zabbadabbado wrote:Please someone try and rationalise/explain the logic in that team selection yesterday. Starting 2 Players who have been out injured for weeks. I mean when had he ever done that before ? .Replacing 6 players that had performed much better than the players whose positions they had taken up these last few weeks.
Also his tactics, the genius non existent plan to defeat the worst team in Premier League history at that point needs talking about.
He makes those 6 totally unenforced changes on the team that admittedly was not ripping up Trees But was still grinding out respectable results
at the business end of the Season, also reestablishing some respect to the Team since our form fell of a Cliff back in October/November. literally with that starting 11 today Irony. We even had the chance of going second until Pep lost the plot today again. There was zero need for rotation with only 1 game every week these days.
He brings back Haaland a lazy bastard even when fully fit, clearly unfit and lacking minutes he drops Marmoush a player in our team who can hold his Head up high. Great Man management by the way Pep. Drops both the Wingers to the Bench, literally every fan was like WTF is he thinking. Gets even better when he decides to bring his Love Child Rico back in to the fold to make us even more slow, dull and insipid than we already are with the Geriatric midfield.
So what is Pep game plan to beat the mighty Southampton. Play with no natural wingers, use the full backs who can not pass for shit instead.
As we all predicted it became a fucking horror show Pass.....Pass......Pass.....Pass....Pass.. hit pointless Balls in to the Box for the Lazy fucker Haaland who is stood on the back Post scratching his Arse.to be fair 90% hit the first Man anyway.
Pep says it was 16 minutes in when he realised what we needed was wingers, because Southampton were playing 11 behind the Ball 16 MINUTES IN HE REALISED IT WASNT WORKING .Says he was surprised by Southampton approached the game he really said this. He is paid £25,000 000 a Season for his services. There he is sat in a dugout from 16 minutes in knowing Southampton offered zero threat and we needed wingers.
It is shocking.
This Man is now taking the piss out of the Club. He has either lost the Plot or is working his exit and a nice big fat Pay Day.
We are much better than he is setting us Up. His Football is slow ,dull, turgid insipid shit and he is doing nothing to change it. That Marmoush substitution on 84 minutes should have him dragged in the office for an explanation. It was criminal, it almost amounts to constructive dismissal your own words you rightly identified it was not working from 16 minutes in, a must win game. Yet one of the bright lights of this Car crash campaign Marmoush you only bring him on at 84 minutes. SERIOUSLY WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WAS THAT ABOUT ?.He did more in 1 minute than Haaland in 97 minutes.
Not sure what is going on with Pep,i have heard all the rumours about him shagging about resulting in his Marriage breakdown etc.
All i really care about is him fielding the best 11 players to get a result, yet he is seemingly incapable of doing it for more than a month or two before he reverts to making it all about him an his narcissism again.
You hear fans coming out with shit like "That team should still have been good enough to beat Southampton ".justifying picking an inferior starting 11 to a better starting 11.Crazy stuff.
There is the nightmare scenario on the Horizon of that FA Cup Final we threw last season to the Rags delivering a spot in the Champions league for them whilst we end up in the Europa because Pep decided life was dull just picking the best 11 to start in must win Premier League games..
Not sure i can take another Season of Pep feeding his Ego to he detriment of the greater good of the team. And lets be honest the Football is Pearce esq and fucking horrendous .Watching 10 outfield players just playing like Zombies, zero ambition, just obsession with keeping possession and passing to the side and back..
We need a new energy, we all know it, the love affair is over.
Thanks for the memories Pep .

All this pass pass pass going to side to side going back isn't going to break saints down, it was up to our players to move a lot quicker take shots out of area and try to put a ball behind them. Dias moaning like a child, what did he want, all there players in our half so we could break and try to score, on the few occasions they did come in our half and we got the ball back we waited to attack and there players was back behind the ball. Play like this next week and palace will win the cup, need to have attacking players on 1 DM on or leave kev on bench with phil

Haaland doesn't get the service, mate. Is that simple. I counted 7 times yesterday where he made a run for it, just for our players to side or back pass the ball.

This has been the case ever since he arrived. Remember his first season, the amount of runs he would make where he'd be clean through and rarely would anybody even attempt the through ball. We could all see it. For two years this happened and it got to a point where he realised he isn't going to get those passes so now he puts himself about the box solely as a classic lumbering number 9. He gets pelters for this approach but he's working with what he gets. Our creativity from midfield is non existent, no cunt is willing to take the chance to play it through when we can all see the chance is there.
This isn't on pep. Those same players were feeding aguero this way, play off the shoulder and lay it through. What has changed in the midfield mindset where they don't even attempt this anymore?
Especially now Kevin's legs have gone our midfield is creatively dead. This is where our overhaul needs to be focused.

Be more like Hazy and Stu - they're buzzing. Stu is the self proclaimed bestest City fan in the world though. Ever.

This Season i have seen him sat in the dug out many times apathetic with zero emotion when a game has been begging for his intervention and changing. It has been infuriating. Belatedly making substations late on.
Then you will see him in games animated on the touch line, gesticulating at players, the old Pep fully invested in the performance. And you think he is back again. Then the next game he reverts to slouching in the Dug out seemingly not giving a shit.Anyone who knows someone with Bi-Polar disorder will see the behaviour trates.
He gives the impression of always being on the brink mentally. This season more than ever.
I think someone high up at the Club should have intervened and sent him on a 3-6 month sabbatical to sort his Head and marriage out.
Absolutely his personal life has affected his mental health which in turn has been detrimental to team selections/tactics and team performances on the Pitch.
Nobody wanted to take responsibly whilst he was having a mid life crisis and struggling mentally.
Really fucked up our season.

He scratched the fuck out of his face and then went on live TV. He's lot it and needs help.
