Ffs! The CPS is not a hive mind and doesn’t give a fuck about anything. This investigation has been going on for 3-4 years and I think we can safely say that both the FA and Arsenals legal teams will have been speaking to the Met the entire time. If anyone truly believes it just organically reached the point where evidence ended up being submitted to the CPS at coincidentally the same time that he was no longer an asset on the pitch for arsenal and no longer their problem legally, then Jesus Christ

Have to ask, when did the Premier League did anything?

All from Germany to Italy had: match fixing, corruption between refs, doping, rape. We were/are led to believe that this never happened in this league, right?
Do you think something will happen to Arse because of Partey? What if teams come out and say they want to win the games 3-0 when he was involved in those, during his time under investigation? Like they said with our 115?

Nothing will happen, it will be swapped under the rub to save "the best league in the world" so the tv coverage rights will be even more expensive next time.

I don't believe the legal system has conspired with Arsenal to delay / time this in accordance with his contract - but such is the world we live in, that just the same as everyone becomes convinced we're paying off the entire world, it's a bad look for Arsenal and some of the insinuations flying around will end up sticking and damaging their reputation.

It's a tough one though isn't it.....ultimately we've been through this ourselves and the player's life was destroyed and we were robbed of the opportunity to use a player who had all the talent in the world. United could argue the same about Greenwood albeit his indiscretion became a lot more public and even though eventually no action was taken, the reputational hit was too great for them.

While precedent of Mendy and Greenwood offers no clue as to what has happened in this case with Partey, the difference we can be sure of, is that Arsenal must have spent a LOT of money on their legal team imposing injunctions to keep this quiet for 4 years.

So while the timing does stink to high heaven, as an organisation if they have simply blocked publication while the investigation has been ongoing, have they not arguably done the right thing - preserving the assumption of innocent until proven guilty?

I thought he was charged a while ago but were only hearing it about it now because Arsenal dropped their super injunction once he left?

He had been arrested for the purpose of investigation several times since the allegations were made but only charged on Friday
