He only started most matches when Haaland or KDB were injured.He was benched or marginalized in Champions League knockouts, domestic finals, and league six-pointers.He was played out of position often, even when form justified a more central role yet despite all that he still had 28 goal contributions in 2023–24.
Alvarez missed most key games at City, and when he did feature, it was often late or not in his best role. That’s a huge part of why he pushed for a move — fuckall to do with the rain sleet or fuckign snow !

Pep always considered him second best to Haaland, and rarely played them together for long periods, yet they did well IMO. Alvarez was a world cup winner, a class act yet we never treated him as such. He didnt settle because he was pissed off at the club is my bet, but he didn't scream and shout just said he wanted to leave. Top player definitely pushed out by the manager's treatment. The talk of Echeverri going out on loan is a case of rinse repeat. That lad is a diamond. Pep is already treating him like shit so my guess is he gets loaned and we never see him play for us
