I was reading how saudi were bankrolling DAZN as they were on the verge of collapse 12 months ago and now are the broadcast partner for the CWC. As you say, money for old rope nearly £40M so far, be silly to turn the money down and not win it. Every cartel club wull be clamouring to be in volved next time round

Read that yesterday - I've started reading the HYS comments on articles like these as the bitterness and boiling piss from the cartel fans (that are not bothered about the CWC as it's not a real trophy/just a friendly) comes leaping off the page. Best laugh of the day, by far!

They're certainly going to pick up some wedge! Maybe their owners will buy a hotel... :?:

I've accepted that we are out, I am super glad that spanish rags are out without even putting up a fight, I suspect Chelsea chance of beating PSG are absolutely next to none. Christ i hate the French but it has to be the best outcome of this sorry affair.

Best of all, we no longer have that shitty gold badge on our shirts chest.

Same for me. Couldn't stand having that on our shirts last season

They desperately needed this money to help them stick to the agreed levels of profit and loss after their recent UEFA fine for breaching. With no hotels or ladies teams left to sell to themselves this gets them out for a hole for one season at least, but they're still going to have a huge gap for the next 2 seasons so potentially will need some high profile sales to bridge the gaps.
