***Villa v City Official Match Thread***

Postby nottsblue » Sun Oct 26, 2025 11:06 am

Another away day after an away CL fixture. I suppose we've had an extra bit of time over Villa in terms of preparations

We are on a good run lately and I see no reason why it shouldn't continue. Haaland is in the form of his life and surely has an eye on the Ballon d'or after he was ridiculously overlooked after hus debut season. He looks hungry like never before.

I'd like to see Reijnders do a bit more. Seems to have regressed a bit after his debut. Maybe he's just getting used to the pace and physicality of the PL?

Fancy a win
3-0 Haaland (2) Gvardiol

Villa like a quick break - and we don't, so a shame Khusanov is out.

Still, we seem more together as a team now. With new super Nunes at RB and hopefully O'Reilly at LB (Gvardiol has been poor) we should pull through.

Have to, there's so many teams within 3 points of us!

Reasons we will lose...

Villa know they can beat us, their recent league form and the home advantage give them the edge over us.

For us, we have Man Ure breathing down our necks.

3 - 1 Villa today, but we'll still be above the Dippers at the end of the day.

It's going to be a very weird season. The bottom three also surprising.

After not letting him leave in the summer Pep seems determined to prove he was right in keeping Savinho. He has done little so far to show why Pep felt this way. This has got to be his last chance, he's on his preferred left hand side and getting preference over Doku who has been good this season.

Bobb needs to grasp these opportunities as well. Been underwhelmed with him so far

Our best player this season (apart from Haaland) on the bench. What a reward! When Aït Nouri gets back we'll never seen O'Reilly ffs

Been out for a month. Surely a gradual comeback is right?

Agree with Notts about Bobb, underwhelming covers it - come on Oscar, grab that chance! (Or you'll end up at Chelsea)
