Dunnie said himself that the disciplinary under KK was what he needed. He went on to to win the next 4 POTY and played another 6 seasons after that issue. Proper pro.

Because we were utterly shit - winning POTY has fuck all to do with how professional you are. He was a player that gave 100% when we were shit so our fans voted for him.

I'll rock up to work tomorrow steaming and if they don't like it I'll tell them to go argue with WW from MCF.net

FFS you are a cynical fucker. Do you ever contribute anything positive to this site. If you don't why don't you fuckoff to bluemoon. Can do without people who just want to argue and bring negativity to everything.

 You've rocked back up and are just arguing with everyone that doesn't agree with you Hahahahaha as if you've typed that being serious. Brilliant.

A fully fit (okay, no longer happening) John Stones is the best centre half at City in the last 20 years.

Richard Dunne - colossal player of the year 4 years in a row at a time when we were very mediocre.

Never injured.

Loved the guy but there were 10 occasions where we wished he hadn't played.

He still holds that unwanted record

Two unwanted records.
Most sending offs as well.

He was committed or should have been...
Loved Dunnie, he was limited but a great pro, would run through brick walls for the team.

Both signed from Everton
2000 - Richard Dunne £3.5m 352 appearances
2016 - John stones £47.5m 290 appearances

Both fantastic buys and fantastic club servant's

Agreed
And I also agree with Slim that a fully fit Stones is a better defender than a fully fit Kompany. However, if we are talking about all round abilities which include leadership then Kompany just shades it

But what a CB partnership that would have been

Talksport debate on my way home of the best CB in PL history.
Top 5 in no particular order were Vinnie, Terry, Van Dick, Ferdinand and Vidic.
No mention of Stones

Yep, absolutely. I am not arguing with you, just some feedback. It's up to you what you do with it

I don't think he makes the list because he's a sicknote. I think Ledley King would be in the same boat, he'll never be in the conversation because of his injuries.

He was a drinker? I never knew that.

Michael Johnson on the other hand, amazed he's still alive.

Dunnie? He fell out with Everton because he turned up pissed; hence royle or keegan forget which took a gamble on him.

I'm sure Dunnie could have given Jackie boy a good run for his money.

Dunnie - lol

If the prize was for heart and effort, hands down top 5.

If any skill or 'lack of haplessness' required - not even close

On one of the old season review videos I had I'm sure there's was a highlight of Dunnie playing right wing back doing a Cruyff turn and whipping in an inch perfect cross for a goal.

May have dreamt that though. Sounds too ridiculous typing it out

Keegan played him wing back in that season in Division 1 before Edgie, SWP, and Charvet played there.

I’d argue a fully fit Kompany is better than a fully fit Stones, but it’s reasonably close.

Kompany was at times the best Cb at least in England but more than that a proper leader. Pop up with a goal, bollock the team, pocket a top Cf. He could do it all and was magnificent.

Stones is great, and it’s not a landslide but I take Vinny.
Tracking back is overrated.

Another solid display by Guehi yesterday against Newcastle. Thought his pairing with Khusanov was much stronger than with Dias.

Tbf Gordon and Elanga will rinse many a backline. Bringing Khus on was the sensible option he's far quicker than Dias and we looked better because of it. Leave that pairing alone now for me but think Pep will put Dias straight back in at Leeds
