Agree with you both but we would not extend his contract if we were not aware and working with him on any exterior issues and managing any health issues he may(?) have.
Not making excuses for him as he has not deserved a place in the starting 11 for two seasons. Clock is definitely ticking for him but with the midfield quality that we have now brought in, I'm hoping he can get back into his groove.

He always looked great as the right sided forward cutting in with Walker as a pacey overlapping fullback creating space for him.

Feels like a no brainer really having Nunes do that.

He needs to accept that he gets bullied too much playing purely through the middle but starting wide and cutting in makes the most of his ability.

Line him up with players on his wavelength (and with the ability to play passes in tight spaces with both feet , ie Cherki) and he will flourish again.

The documentary flagged they have Cherki down as the KDB replacement. Hopefully that is the case.

Foden is getting into last chance saloon territory now. This is a key few months for him now to take that step up and become a talisman. He's been on the periphery too long, and can't rely on past reputation or perceived perception of potential anymore.

Make or break season for Foden in my eyes. He's been given the opportunity to be one of the best players in the world but I'd question if he really has the desire and mental capacity to achieve his full potential. Two years of steady decline but I hope he bounces back to the level he was at a couple of season ago. Flashes of his brilliance in the second half last night but time will tell

Honestly, even after two games, I'm finding his openess refresbing. Tried Guehi in opening game then switched it last night no doubt with an eye on what and who did not work in the first game.
Pep was a fucker for sticking with his plan regardless. Another great thing was the introduction of the kids, yes, they may have been all we had, but he gave them minutes.
