This all day. What the media cannot seem to grasp is that by going after Burnham (& I am no fan of him), they will strengthen our case by making it political. Dragging UAE into it will only see them calling in favours. They have not only backed City and Manchester, there are £billiion contracts for the UK.

Were the rags arsed about anyone when they fucked off the FA Cup and went to Brazil to make £$ with fuck off attitude we do what we want!! 100%. The club have never changed their tune on this. Where is this latest news??

It's in the fail and even some comments point out to other Reporting , especially the New York Times about how conveniently some pages in the final report have been ignored. (page 19 ?? where it is confirmed the City owner really had no information about any sponsorship deal details). I haven't seen the report so i can't comment.

https://www.dailymail.com/sport/footbal ... -fine.html

However the FAIL twists the story and gives a headline as if City wanted to hold the talks and it was actually the reverse ! City said no to any payment. So it is looking like the PL have really screwed up because the Board told 'em where to go.

Carl, I would agree on the assumption but don't you think this leak is utter gossip BS?
Struggle to imagine PL would leak something posive for us, nor the Club which have always been true to the discretionary clause.

TBH, I would think from the source that it's not BS

A settlement would have been a godsend to the PL and get them out of the shit they've dropped themselves in.

Never said it didn't make sense, Patrick.
That's the outcome most of us had always foreseen. I just struggle to believe to such an urgent leak.
Perhaps it's just me that grown convinced, after all such libellous hype, the Club had finally decided to go for the fucking throat.
Hence go to the wire up to HM High Court.

I don't think it's bullshit, some have worded it to make it look like we instigated the talks but i think it would have been the PL. Classic plea bargain tactics from the PL. Good to see City hold firm and tell them where to go. ...... and then all hell broke lose. I think there are a few braver souls coming out of the woodwork to not specifically support us but to say the Financial rules are unfair. Joe Cole did well yesterday.

People. Everyone who is not a Blue.

Since the 114 leak, everywhere I go, people are forcing me to listen to their opinion, their 'take', they've read a newspaper article or head a podcast and think they have become some sort of expert.

If they are friends who are willing to actually talk about it -

I've found the best point I can bring the conversation around to that everyone eventually agrees on is that FFP is a corrupt mess. Asking how is it fair that Villa & Newcastle had to sell all their best players right after they qualify for Europe, but spuds can spend 400 mil after finishing 17th 2 seasons in a row. And asking how is any other team ever going to compete with the top 4 if their ability to spend is tied to past revenue - but the only way to grow your revenue is to spend big on top level players to win trophies. A real pull yourself up by your bootstraps situation. And pretty much the only place in the capitalist world where business owners can take as much money out of their business as they want, but are punished for investing money into it.

Usually after going through that for a few minutes they are left with a "yeah it doesn't make sense and needs to be changed - but City still shouldn't have cheated". And in my view, the best response here is why would the PL allow City to be bought by their current owners and take on our current sponsors if they are going to throw a fit about funds being intermingled a decade later? How could they not anticipate this happening when they signed off on it? How stupid must the PL be to have signed off on everything originally, yet now gin everything up so much that many people are calling for over half of the PL titles from the last decade to be invalidated? And why did it take them 2 seasons to come to a conclusion after they finished a trial? Can they not see how this much damages the league?

And then we are left with "yeah the rules are corrupt and the PL is incompetent, but City still shouldn't have done that". Which I respond with "well lets see if City broke any corrupt rules under and incompetent regulator after the appeals are over"

Same conversation about 4-5 times now and always seems to bring the initial hysteria down

Great post mate, beautifully illustrates why neutrals (especially Newcastle and al Villa) need to read this sort of thing before joining the shrills of the baying mob.

Fuck me!

According the beeb and others Burnham now being forced to reveal his dealings with us (i assume Labour Party damage limitation)

All because he said it would bad if the Sheikh pulled out of Manchester.

Clearly that statement relates to the investment in the wider community of East Manchester, he went on to say he couldn't comment further yet here we are.....

McNulty is one weird fella.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/arti ... 0rd4pex7no

I really hope the City Admin take the BBC to task about such reporting.

Masters and the PL knew that by leaking the apparent Guilty verdict during the Internationals break it would get full Media attention because footballing wise there is sod all to talk about. I would not be surprised if the Scouse game yesterday was planned to coincide with the break and press releases.

As said many times before do not allow people like Spit. McNulty and Neville into the ground , ever.

And this nonsense about Burnham..... really I don't like the guy , but Commercial agreements , turning Manc into Manchattan, well Completely away from the PL scope of City breaking FFP rules in 2009 . when FFP was officially introduced years later in the PL (2013).

I'm absolutely disgusted with the BBC. I know there's been a lot of people in the last few years criticising them, but I've always defended them. Ok, I know they've always sucked up to the Munes, but I always regarded that as an amusing quirk.

No more, their "reporting" on this has been blatantly biased, one sided, speculative and misleading.

In fact it's been as bad or worse than the crap on social media posted by the usual haters.

Fuck them, I for one hope City sue them..
