Well the top tier are more expensive than the south stand so I can't see why they would do them seats cheap?
You'd be best to ring up and enquire about it and see exactly who can get these "no frills" seats.

I guess I'm relatively happy with the prices, it's gonna cost about £40 more for me and my lad in the family stand level 2. Sound to be some interesting ideas for next season which will no doubt have a fair few teething problems i.e. new food ideas in the family stand and different menu and multi pourers in the South Stand etc.

Really not sure about the long term plans for Level 2 or "the posh seats". It really is opening it up now, as someone pointed out, to the prawn sandwich brigade and making the atmosphere worse. The owners promised that the fans would be at the heart of the club and I'm hoping they keep remembering this when bringing in new ideas

The marketing cynic in me thinks that this new segregation of fans into areas is done with some long-term planning in mind.

Without a shadow of a doubt the club will have done a cost/benefit analysis of every "fan type" and they are naturally targeting the cash rich such as families who will buy a programme, food, crayons and books and a whole host of merch from the club shop.

The survey they sent out to us season tickets implied they are also targeting an elitist type of fan with padded seats, bells and whistles etc who will spend money without a second thought.

By arranging the stadium in such a way to categories fan types makes it much easier in the future to weed out the type of fans they are not interested in attending - this is to say the single male, who doesn't buy anything from the club shop, gets to the ground at 2.55pm straight from the pub pissed up and then straight off again back to the pub at 4.45pm.

In pure marketing terms they bring little income to the club except for the season-ticket. If we got to a situation where there is a big waiting list for tickets based on our inevitable success then expect the south standers to be priced out of tickets in less than 5 years time for a new breed of Arsenal-esq type support.

I can see a slightly different scenario; if/when we start winning trophies regularly, they expand the ground & put prices up hugely for the lower tiers putting all the afformentioned up in the Gods & filling levels 1&2 with Arsenal/rag tourist types. That's what I recon will happen, initially at the sides, then at both ends, with the away fans also moved upstairs.

They don't make any noise anyway down either side of the pitch. So if they scoff a few butties I don't think it will alter the atmosphere.
I've never quite understood how screaming abuse, venting yer spleen and roaring the boys on could not be part of the attraction of going. You can't look forward to sitting in silence, and having a mumble and a grizzle every now and then, surely.

"Seasoncard holders currently based in North Level One, who no longer meet the qualification criteria for the Family Stand will be given an exclusive opportunity to relocate at a discount."

So i guess this means im getting a discount, i Just hope that i can relocate to where i want to go which will either be 109 or 110. If they try and stuff me on the 3rd tier im not renewing!!!

I'm not quite getting this? I moved from the SS 2 seasons back because I got the lads (12 & 13 at the time) their first SCs, instead of individual matches, with a view to moving back into the SS this year now they are indoctrinated. This has been done by getting my SC's in the CB right next to the SS.

Now, by reading that, they are saying that me and my 2 lads (who sing their hearts out throughout the game) have to move from our current seats into the North Stand or pay premium prices to stay in our seats or move to the SS. Is this correct, because if it is I'm looking at the best part of £1500 just for tickets because theirs no way I'm sitting in the NS?

One thing they haven't taken into account is that it is the lads who buy their stuff. They buy the shirts (6 of them so far this year), they buy the drinks, pies, chips and hotdogs every game. If it's gonna cost that much, they may not be purchasing that stuff next year because they won't be going.

Also, are the club bringing in the cheap tickets to try and compensate those with kids in non-NS areas so that they don't have to pay full whack?

PS. There is no way that the NS could accommodate all those family's displaced.

Are you in Level 1 of the Colin Bell stand Beefy? If you are and you're in 121 then it'd be £475 for you and 2 x £140 for your lads, assuming they're still under 16? So that'd be £755 all in

No mate, I'm in 323 at the moment. However, those prices look a little better, where'd you get them from, are they on the OS now?

And, would it be the same if we moved back to the SS?

Cheers in advance.

The spin that the club is putting on these price changes is worthy of our political parties. My seat in Block 121 (South Stand level 1) cost £369 last season but appears to have been re-designated into the East block for next season at a cost of £475. This is an increase of 28%+. Some fans must be getting some very good deals if the overall increase is around 6%. Even in the South Stand the increase appears to be 9.75%. City have always provided very good value in terms of seasoncards but the latest changes seem to be ludicrous at this time.

Call me cynical....and I don't want to piss any families off here!By putting all of the families in the NS, surely it indicates that stand would be extended first?

Moving the adults to the other stand surely maximises the revenue potential of having them there instead of a "hotch potch" of support? It makes them able to sort out the finances easier whilst any re-building is going on I guess? Your thoughts??

ADDITIONAL NEWS
I couldn't see this anywhere on the site, so apologies if it is there and I've missed it.

Anyone wanting to take their card out on the finance option, must get a form from the club which must be returned by MAY 10TH

Assuming again that your lads are Under 16 then to stay in 323 it'd cost you £475 plus 2 x £140 for your lads, so £755 all in again. If you moved to the South Stand, Level 1 would cost you all £685 and Level 2 would be £700 all in

Hope that helps and yes there's a fair few pages on the OS about the changes

Yes

Possibly cheaper, but no where near as low as the 6% increase quoted

I think it is there to make headlines look possitive and to bring the average increase down

PS. There is no way that the NS could accommodate all those family's displaced.
They expect to fit them all in, again we challanged this as it is felt there are around 12,000 fans who are kids or adults who take kids and the NS will not hold them all

Really interesting idea with the value seasoncards. There are often awkward little pockets of seats around existing groups that become difficult to sell per match.

Two birds one stone, cheap seats for people who want them badly enough (and there'll be no shortage of takers) and the sales office will have a pool of a few hundred (at a guess) season ticket holders that they can move around as they like to organise seats easily.

Have to say that I like it. Some people could well end up getting half price tickets just for not caring where they are.

Family stand is a really interesting idea too. Could be awkward in some respects in that the rest of the ground might sell out while the family section has plenty of space, but I'm sure they've done their maths. It will be interesting the effect it has on the atmosphere. One thing I'm not entirely clear on is how some family units will fare. i.e. over 16s to college age adults who want to watch games with family when there are also younger kids and also grandpa going to matches as a group.

That's the one thing that's been on my mind today as my lad is 12 and I'm thinking of also taking my girlfriend and her lad the season after next, but there's gonna come a point where we've got 2 adults, my lad will be over 16 and the other only 12/13. From the sounds of it we'll be up shit creek and have to pay double price for the kids elsewhere in the ground

I've just had a look at the costs....Colin Bell and East stand Levels 1 & 3 are £140 for Under 16's, as are SS 1&2.

So an Increase of £45.00 I think....around 50%
