Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Gerrard, Milner, Huddlestone. We've not had a midfielder who hits it from outside the box since Barton. Obviously Bellamy scored a cracker in the derby but i remember on saturday when Milner got the ball it was a bit panicky as you don't know weather to close down an impending screamer or sit back and stop him picking out a through ball. I think it's vital for us to have this type of player as it makes your opponent think. I suppose really I'm looking for a 'traditional' midfielder. I don't think any of the above would come in the summer, with Liverpool probably going to make a sale to new owners giving Stevie G hope for another season, although I would love James Milner. Anyone got any suggestions? I also think it's no coincidence that these players I have mentioned are all English...

Barton's shooting was pretty awfull though.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

yes but he did score some crackers. most players that try it get it wrong for more than get it right. gerrard and lampard included.

To be fair, I do remember a few good goals.
I also remember a fair amount of bad shots as well though.

I always make sure to score in the box. The back door has never really appealed to me.
(sorry, it had to be done)

Yeah, whatever happened to that guy, thought I saw him right before our third, but when I double checked it was the SWP we bought from Chelsea.

this.. AJ has a pop now and again, Tevez is always looking for even a half chance to but has so many options at his own disposal he can change his mind at will.. thats why he is so dangerous, Bellers can and does occasionally.
I would go for old Johnno though as a classic example of what the OP is saying. Tevez tries shots from about 20 yds out whereas Johnno does em from 30yds.. an i suppose thats what we are talking about here

Well, there is always a young brazilian lad playing for Juve at the moment who fancies the odd pop from 25 yards, can't remember his name though.

I honestly couldn't care less if we never score another 25-yarder ever again, so long as the goals keep going in from somewhere. Why are you so arsed?
