I don't think going on a run in the Europa should jepodise a stong run for the best Premiership placing we can achieve.

I think many people view the Europa as a distraction and a waste of time. We shouldn't have to 'focus' on winning the FA Cup, placing 4th etc instead. We should be 'focusing' on doing well in all competitions.

With good management, a strong squad and commited players, tiredness and jetlag stop becoming excuses.

we're still alive for the quadruple next season as far as i am aware.

cheers

And that Doomey would be a typical City thing to do......not win nowt for 34 years and then win the lot in one fell swoop. Now id get my tits out in the Townley if that happend......:-) (im sure that would cheer you up Bingo!!)

Royally fucked off, and I'm past caring.

I just hope we do a Villa, and get beat in the first round of the Europa, coz the last thing we fucking need is another long season in a pointless competition.

in reality by the time next season comes along you will be cheering us on as much as anyone and probs a bit more than a lot.

i buy your logic Bingo, but i also have my own which is that to prove ourselves as a top team we actually NEED the demand of playing for a top 4 prem finish AND a demanding campaign against quality unknown oppo in Europe AND the demands of the domestic cups. Getting into the Champs and going gooey eyed about it and then dropping back out of the top4 would be equally stupid.

The reality is we are in the Europa.. we will try to do well in it and even go for a win it. The Club has that agenda and will seek to build the squad to live up to those rigours. We will also want to win a domestic cup AND we will look to finish in the top3 next season to boot.

I understand your dissapointment mate but there is little long term logic in getting arsey about it.. all you are going to achieve with that is having a depressing summer mate. Go watch Khaldoons message again, put yer City shirt on and get yer fuclin mojo back on

My solution at this problem is this:
1) Send Academy plus reserves plus some long term ex injuried player on rusty European Thursday nights
2) Make all efforts to win next Premier League

and it could be all for me!!!
From Torino, Italia to Manchester, Lancashire this City is always our City!

Ah come on Bingo. I almost feel the same, I'm almost annoyed the world cup is coming I feel so flat with all things football.

Fact is though, we weren't quite good enough over the season to finish fourth. And it aches like a broken heart. I was so sick of watching us fail I didn't think things could get any worse, and didn't believe they'd get any better. Then we got rich, bought bags of mint players, nearly succeeded, and ultimately failed yet again. And it feels a lot worse, maybe cos it's fresher I dunno, but people talking about perspective need to see that it works both ways. But we are still everything that makes us what we are, probably even more so now.

The Europey might not be the Chumps, but it's not as gash as you make out; it'd be a great pot to pick up. I'm sure you felt the same before we got Hamburgled last year.

And yeah, we'd need a great squad, but I think we might be able to afford that.

Question: Are we, or are we not in the best position to go on and become a major force in English/European footy since the vast majority of us were born (apart from John and Doug)?

you also said that we should've won the league under Sven.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
