However, I would not want to hand Liverpool £70m for a (very) rich man's RSC. Torres, although probably the best striker in the world, is a crock and you cannot justify paying that amount for him. Think we already have our own Torres with Carlitos and would would rather bring in someone who would compliment him better than Ade. Balotelli fits this bill for me.

What you been smoking??

Ha ha fair dos mate, maybe one day eh? We do need a left back though, maybe one who knows how to keep focus for the whole match, and can actually attack well. Bridgey used to be a great attacking left back, but he's lost it now it was the best part of his game his defending was never amazing.

I think if we're gonna break the bank for a player we should have a go at Gerrard. I really don't think its as unrealistic as people think unless we get competition from the likes of Real or Chelsea
Boeteng, Clichy, Benzama, Ruiz, Milner or Gourcouff, Joe Cole (we need to do a blow tottenham out the water special there), dorrans, Gago, Fulop and Vieira (latter 2 are dead certs) would be on my summer shopping list

Love the thought of Dzeko, as pants says he's a hybred of ade and RSC, ability and workrate - but not sure we'll get him, or even go for him sadly

Wooders, I would hate us to waste money on Gerrard. He wouldn't be a good fit at all. 10 years too old.

I think we'll see what a good partnership he can form with barry over the summer, hope so anyway, for my money, he'd be the ideal person the lead the squad from midfield and drive us forward

I'd agree if he was available on reasonable terms (=10m or something like that) but he isn't. I disagree with people who think he just does it for Liverpool. It's in his competitive nature and he'd do it for whoever he plays for. But he had loads of injuries as youngster and I', mot sure how long he can keep going at the top.

Jack of all trades, master of none. Decent player to have in squad though.

Honestly I think people little bit underestimate how big Club Bayern are. They are massive giants in German speaking Europe and have huge following in Eastern Europe as well. And while in typical German fashion they know a good deal when they see one and are always willing to listen overprised offers for their players, it will be extremely hard to attract any of their players leaving the club for anyone but Rags, Barcelona, Real, Chelsea or one of the Milan clubs.

Nery Castillo?

We won't sign this bloke because A) if he's as good as his demo tape, Real Madrid or Barca have probably already nabbed him & B) he can shoot from distance & can take free kicks which, like crossing the ball, is against the constitution of Manchester City Football Club. If you do any of those things you're out of the fucking door mate.

yeah jack of all trades perhaps.. or flexible.. but we have a few players like that and they are flippin useful. He has good skill from what i have seen.

As for Bayern, i dont underestimate them Disco.. had them down to beat Barca in the final.. unfortunately Barca didn't get there ;) am aware of the 'size' of bayern, it is only the Bundesleague that is not as popular as other leagues that makes people think their teams are not as big. Crowds are fuclin huge in Germany. That said i think City are seen by most of Europe that they will be challenging for the Prem and be in the CL before very long at all, and we can attract players that want to play in the Prem AND see something different than going to Chelsea or the rags.. if you get what i mean.. there is more glory to be had at City

Now that Franck Ribery has been exposed as a violent paedophile he should be available at a knockdown price.

based upon our current weak points what are our priorities?

the most obvious one for me is the forward mid. This role requires an exceptional player to turn us from being very good into the best.

Anyone got the low down on the very best players for this position who would fit into our current set up.. ie 4-4-2 with Tevez in a free forward role.. ?

It depends on how Mancini wants to set up. If he has a particular formation that he wants to play every week or if he wants to have several different formations & even change them during a game. If he wants to play 4-4-2 properly we need major surgery imo.

Imo both Hughes & Mancini ended up with 4-4-2 because they were'nt happy with the way the other formations were working & that one did, rather than out of choice. If they'd been building a 4-4-2 from scratch they would have had wide players who can cross the ball, central midfielders who are athletes & a centre forward who gets on the end of crosses. Apart from RSC who's never fit, we're short in all departments.

I liked Hughes' 4-2-3-1 system & the different variations on it. A player who can do what Robinho does but actually cares about it & will work harder (or alternatively someone who's as good as Robinho thinks he is), would help if we went back to that.

I my opinion, our priorities should be;

A creative midfielder - With Stevie a shadow of his former self we have nobody to play defence splitting passes for our strikers to run on to. This forces us to try and play down the wings all the time and seriously restricts our options.

A tall striker who is good in the air - We have some good wingers at the club but there is no point keep firing the ball into the area from the ranks if we can't win headers in and around their 6-yard box.

A commanding central defender - Again, we are lacking in the air. I don't recall us winning a header in either box during the Spurs game and this should be addressed immediately. Vinnie is good in the air but can't do it all on his own.

I haven't got the names to fill the areas I have highlighted but hopefully our management team can come up with a few now that I have told them what they need to look for.

I've been really impressed with Phil Jones for Blackburn, not sure what price he'd be available or if at all mind.

Who would you sign this summer if you was manager? I say lets get top talented young players who can play together for years. A bit like Barcelona but instead of them coming through our own acadamy just buy them off other people.

I would go for:

Torres (if not him, then Higuain) - Torres needs no explanation. If we can't get him then Higuain would be a fantastic second option. 60m for Torres or 30m for Higuain

Balotelli - Unbelievable young player who I think Mancini could get the best out of. Some question marks on his attitude though. A bit like sturridge, except attitude is worse and his talent is greater. - 30m

Eden Hazard - I really really rate this guy and mentioned it a few weeks back. Wenger is heavily linked with him and as we all know he's no dummy in the transfer market (buying franny jeffers for 10m aside) I think he'd be ours for 15m

Yoann Gourcuff - This guy is the closest to Zidane I've ever seen. Really top player. 27m

Stevan Jovetic - He tore Liverpool a new arsehole when he played against them in the Champions League. Reminds me a bit like Maradona. Wavy hair, stocky kind of build and low centre of gravity. Rags have been linked with him - 25m

Miralem Pjanic - I don't think he'd get in my team ahead of Gourcuff but another young top talent. We were linked with him under Hughes http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... janic.html 10m

Giorgio Chiellini - Excellent centre half and still relatively young at 25 for a defender. 40m

Gael Clichy - Good left backs are quite rare these days. This guy is great for Arsenal and plenty of years ahead of him. 28m

Right back is really tricky. My number one choice would be Maicon but I highly doubt he'll come. I'd probably go for Cristian Zaccardo.10m

On a side note I really feel Zabaleta would be a fantastic player in midfield. So with that in mind:

----------------------------Hart-------------------------

Zaccardo-------Kompany-------Chiellini-------Clichy

-------------------------Zabaleta------------------------

Hazard------------------------------------------Jovetic

-------------------------Gourcuff------------------------

----------------Tevez----------Higuain------------------

Subs: Given, Lescott, Barry, A. Johnson, Pjanic, Adebayor, Balotelli

goin for balotelli is like hitting your foot with the axe ..he is no good , never backtacks when the situation demands ,looks like he is on a stroll in a park , sucks the opp. teams rightbacks into no man's zone and frantically kicks the ball hoping it would hit their niggy wiggy and get a corner , tries to go solo in the box even if there is clear space for assists to other strikers and is fuckin over ambitious in long range shots goin well 20 ft above the bar thinkin himself of nedved doing that.

Yoann Gourcuff - This guy is the closest to Zidane I've ever seen - are u insane ...he is good but squanders the ball in mf.only flashes of brilliance then goes into sleepmode , gets nervous when pressured on . My choice will be silva , orchestrates the mf well but realsitic option will be ozil.

David Luiz - We've been linked to both Angel Di Maria and Luiz from Benfica but this is actually the better player of the two having watched some Portuguese league. Despite being Brazilian, his playing style of more of Northern Britain. He has played as left back as well for Brazilian national side on couple of games I'v seen so he'd provide great cover there or would release Lescott to play as leftback (where I think he'd be excellent).

you cant be serious mate NORTH BRITAIN .this guy start doing tricks with the ball when the strikers are howling at his feet with no pretty reason to do so , a british defender will just pass the ball around n play a no nonsense game at the back.yaeah but this guy has lot of pace and never thinks before getting into risky tackles
