I took every season since our foundation that had more than 38 games. I recalculated the records for those seasons at 3pts for a win and in every season that had more than 38 games, I limited the record at the point of 38 games played.

With one game to still be played this season, it could be reasonably argued that despite Hughes and Mancini being shite and despite all the shortcomings of players who have been told to fuck off and called cunts on here, despite all those players who are lazy, couldn't give a fuck or are just playing for the money...This team of no hopers, led by the clueless and stupid, who have no football tactical sense, should we win on saturday at West Ham...could actually be considered to be the 3rd BEST EVER TEAM PRODUCED BY CITY IN ALL OUR LONG AND ILLUSTRIOUS HISTORY.

In between some of you slashing your wrists, contemplating suicide or phoning the Samaritans, take a little time to check out those figures and consider just how fucking lucky you have been to be able watch that shite City have prodused this season.
NOT ONLY ONLY IS THE FUTURE BRIGHT AND SKY BLUE...SO IS THE PRESENT...

Maybe some should apologise to the club, the management and the players for their rantings, maybe some should re-adjust their thinking and maybe some should put away the tissues and FUCKING CELEBRATE.

I enjoyed that. Thanks John.

I'd disagree about Tevez, but other than that spot on. As for how well they've done, sorry I missed it - which trophy did we win?

As for how well we've done compared to the great City side of 1913, I couldn't care less. History is bunk. As far as points are concerned, this season doesn't matter anymore already. All that matters now is how many points we get next season, compared to how many other teams get. Everyone has been saying all season about how this season has been the most competitive for years, which is probably due to the top few teams being weaker than usual. If they strengthen for next season, we'd be a long way from the top with this season's tally.

I actually really like Zabaleta. He's a good football player with his heart on his sleeve. He used to be a bit too rough and undisciplined, but he seems to be learning. Yes, there are better fullbacks, better wingers and better defensive mids out there, but there aren't many that can do such a great job in all three positions.

And honestly, had he just a bit more pace, then I would class him as our best fullback (I think he's basically better than Bridge, but slower).

I am glad you quoted how great our team of 1913 was...after 38 games they had attained 62pts and finished 6th. Not quite as great as our present side though. Which despite your misery had been pretty great...But it's all about opinions.

What were the bar facilities like for you in the 1913 season John?

Hhahahahaha...cheers John. I can confirm from Gary James's research, that City and beer have always been closely linked. Even the Ardwick AFC nickname was "THE BREWERYMEN".

During the 1890s, Ardwick were in danger of being evicted from Hyde Road because they hadn't paid the rent. Chester's Brewery paid the debt for Ardwick and took over the lease of the ground. They also spent over £2,500 repairing the ground and investing in bars. They were not prepared to lose the profits from the City fans beer sales...Nowt has changed...:-)

Credit Gary james with that info.

It seems it wasn't just a love of City that our Grandfathers, then our Fathers handed down.
When I was a kid, Chester's Bitter and Mild was often reffered to as "FIGHTING BEER". and Chester's pubs always were considered to be the most troublesome.
Good pint though.

When John was showing me around he not only took me to Maine Road but the locations of the Ardwick and Hyde Road ground too.
