Hughes will only come back into management with top 6 club, he's far too arrogant to take over at the hammers, he'd see them as a big step down.

if hughes was assured there would be a bit of money to spend i have no doubt he'd go there.

Well thats the sticking point for me. The hammers are as skint as they come. Hughes would be wheeling and dealing in the bargain bin, i just cant see him doing that again, it would be like taking over a poorer blackburn!

Remember when he took the City job we were weeks ago from shutting up shop, taking out loans from Makin and Wardle and in all sorts of shit.

He's one of the most obvious Candidates. An ability to make West Ham difficult to beat and make wise moves in the transfer market. I'm thinking more Kompany & Zabaleta over Toure & Santa Cruz.

I have a feeling there might be some surprise names involved - but Hughes is more than likely to be one of the main choices.

Hi Garry,I just wanted to shake your hand and ask you a question.I go to COMS as mucha as possible but sometimes I cannot leave the house as Sophie.....sorry..Sophie is my Cat...... needs a carer when Im away and sometimes I cannot find one.

Wasn't there talk of Pardew coming back? He's had a great season at Southampton, might be a decent outside bet

There are some good free transfers knocking around as per slims list that would do a job for west ham - some of whom I wouldnt necessarily say are bargain basement signings. You could build a decent team out of them and push for Uefa - I always feel Hughes works better under adversity and when the odds are against him ala Blackburn / Wales.

Almunia / M Taylor / James
Silvestre
Greening
Simon Davies
Aurelio
Petrov
Gudjohnson
Melchiot

All good quality players, quite a few of whom I expect to re-sign for their clubs - but if West Ham want to pay the wages and avoid the transfer fees, they could get a decent side out of this lot plus whatever is knocking about in Europe.

I reckon they will sell Parker for a bit of cash to somebody like Liverpool who will get the cash for Torres and then use it to fund new players. Hughes will sell before he buys and get some good money for them at a club like that.

I reckon Hughes is in the car as we speak.

Tripe Sir....Tripe!

What part?

Both Bits....Jol has unfinished business in the Premiership IMHO, and I think a return to a local rival to Spurs could suit him in the long run. Yes Ajax has CL football next season, but can they realistically advance in that competition or reach it on an annual basis?

I thought Hughes had already turned down West Ham? If he is in the car, he's probably heading for a short break to Colwyn Bay, rather than heading Sarf

Not sure how much Hughes would want to work with the current West Ham owners

He was happy to work for a man who had fled his own country to avoid jail, and who had been found guilty of bribery and corruption

I wasn't trying to imply that Hughes was some sort of moral crusader, merely that having only recently been at a club where he didn't make all the decisions would he really want to work for David "I chose every player that Birmingham bought" Sullivan?

Is he really that bad?

If he wants a club where he gets to call every shot, he will be waiting a very very long time as he has not earned that right yet - just as he never really earned that right to exercise the amount of control he had at city (aside from the marqee signings)

He posts on Knees Up Mother Brown as 'I Am Law' yet spells his username backwards on here to avoid detection. I note someone registered on there as 'I Am Lawro' after he did.

I kept an eye on KUMB over Zola was appointed to see if there was an anti-Chelsea Legend feel. There never really was!

The players loved Zola the player, I'd wager, which is fair enough, given the supreme ability he had on the pitch. However, as a coach, I'd hazard to suggest that they didn't respect him or his tactics.

As for the fans, some (perhaps stupidly) couldn't see past his Chelsea background (shades of Hughes at COMS), but many more knew that he was a rookie who got the job because everyone else -including of course your present incumbent weren't interested.

A lot of die-hard Hammers with whom I know and drink would not have renewed if he hadn't have been sacked. The fact of it didn't raise so much as a flicker of surprise for me. He's been a DMW for months.

Sorry for Zola the man, because, in truth, he has honour and self-respect. But when did that get anywhere in the cut-throat business of running a Premiership club? The simple reality is that we swapped 9th for 17th and all of the arguments in the world can't mask that 80% of us expected the worst this season...and in the next season, if he had stayed at the helm.

Ciao Gianfranco. One day, you'll be a star in management. But under the Goblins? Not a hope in hell.

If we sign either of these absolute clowns (Melchiot's the reason we stayed up!), I will probably refuse to renew my ST. I know we're shopping in the equivalent of Lidl, but give us a break John! They are utter shite.

The England team can only succeed with three Hammers in its first eleven.

He gets sold when they and Jules Rimet touch down at Heathrow.

And not a second before.

As for Irblinx's view, I share it. I doubt Hughes wants it with the Goblins. Who would, in all seriousness?

Everyone needs a squad. I dont say that list would all be first teamers, but if West Ham dont want to spend the money and are in the market for frees - you could do worse
