goal.com report we had a bid for De Rossi rejected hehehe.

Roma have rejected an offer from Manchester City for midfielder Daniele de Rossi.

La Stampa says Roma have turned down a bid of £37 million from City for the Italy international, but have left the door open to further negotiations.

City have been told to come back with an improved offer.

Concerning for Roma is that De Rossi has been made aware he would earn almost £8 million-a-year should he make the move to Eastlands.

£37 million rejected but we could offer more??? Is he really worth it?

Yes. Amongst one or two others, he is the player I would most like us to sign. Top player, defends, creates and is a proper leader. Just what we're after.

100% agreed, brilliant player and I cannot imagine we are alone in wanting him.

torres bid is at an advanced stage since he is waitin for approvals from the lfc management for sound investment in the squad and wants assurances before the world cup but its a long shot and he knows chances are slim .Morever the deal is believed to have a walkaway clause if city doesnt get into champions league next year .Torres’ relationship with manager Rafael Benitez has reportedly soured and the 26-year-old could choose to stick around for another season if the Liverpool boss leaves this summer.Chelsea will not bid him since city are reportedly going for a 50 m bid and there are no options for him to move to spain since barca have zeroed on villa .
some other rumours doing rounds :-
Cristian Ansaldi (DR)– Rubin Kazan – £4m
Jerome Boateng (DC)– Hamburg – £11m (will be finalised this week)
Mario Gomez (ST)– Bayern Munchen– £21.76m
Yoann Gourcuff (MC)– Girodins de Bordeux – £18.5m

Agree about Oblong plenty of pace but can be a bit of a headless chicken.Young on the other hand is a player i think would be worth a look.

i actually am baffled as to why ashley young didn't make the 30 man squad for england - am i missing something? two footed winger - he's basically adam johnson with a bit more heft and a lot more experience. i'd love to have him to replace bellamy when he either leaves or can't do a job on a regular basis anymore.

Ashley Young is a frustrating player, swings from genius to dickhead 100x in a match, capello was probably just about right not to take him in the squad this time, but with abit of experience added over the next two seasons, i'd expect him to be an england starter at the next euros and the next world cup after that.

As for Oblongawhore, he is just useless. Take away his pace and he's got very little ability. I wouldn't ever want to see him at our club.. no no no!

Don't believe Mancini would sign the Roadrunner. Not technically or mentally good enough. Could imagine him signing Ashley Young but Villa would want ridiculous money to part with him.

It's all gone quiet regarding Boateng, and with the Italian and Spanish league finishing this weekend, could we see a glut of signing/announcements all at once next week or 10 days??

In Hughes first game in charge he did, i was there and we were shocking all over the park that day.

I also remember Villa fans chanting, "You're going down with your chairman" and "where's your money gone" this was about 2-3 weeks before we got taken over when people were talking about the club going bust ala pompy!

Ahhh thank you sheikh mansour! City's saviour!

I think we should be going in for him.

Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure is "90% certain" to leave the Nou Camp this summer according to his agent. Dimitri Seljuk said Arsenal were interested in his client and that he was confident a deal could be done.
