Roma have rejected an offer from Manchester City for midfielder Daniele de Rossi.

La Stampa says Roma have turned down a bid of £37 million from City for the Italy international, but have left the door open to further negotiations.

City have been told to come back with an improved offer.

Concerning for Roma is that De Rossi has been made aware he would earn almost £8 million-a-year should he make the move to Eastlands.

i actually am baffled as to why ashley young didn't make the 30 man squad for england - am i missing something? two footed winger - he's basically adam johnson with a bit more heft and a lot more experience. i'd love to have him to replace bellamy when he either leaves or can't do a job on a regular basis anymore.

Ashley Young is a frustrating player, swings from genius to dickhead 100x in a match, capello was probably just about right not to take him in the squad this time, but with abit of experience added over the next two seasons, i'd expect him to be an england starter at the next euros and the next world cup after that.

As for Oblongawhore, he is just useless. Take away his pace and he's got very little ability. I wouldn't ever want to see him at our club.. no no no!

In Hughes first game in charge he did, i was there and we were shocking all over the park that day.

I also remember Villa fans chanting, "You're going down with your chairman" and "where's your money gone" this was about 2-3 weeks before we got taken over when people were talking about the club going bust ala pompy!
