I'm starting to really warm to Bob...at first I saw him as a stop gap until Jose or another of such ilk decided he wanted to take over at the worlds richest club...now i'm slowly coming round to the fact that this guy is a top notch Manager in his own right...

I just hope he can do here what he has done at his previous clubs...and with our bank roll there is no reason why that can't happen..

I think the transfer window will make or break him. If his signings are a success he will be too.

Dunno where the dogs of war came from in that story though, more creative licence but a nice story all the same.

Underdog, top dog, dogs of war. The only one missing is the dog's bollocks. Which of course Bob will be if we win the league.

I dont think this was ever in doubt from the moment he set foot in the door. We will be up there for sure, despite several on here saying we should plod along in 4th, 3rd, 2nd for a few years in the 'Title 2011' thread.

I think this is the main thing- any more than 2 from 5 or 6 newcomers are brought in from Serie A, and I'll be seriously worried about the Premiership nous he acquired after 6 months here.

he has said in interviews that he has thought about certain players but doesn't think they will hack it in the Prem, I reckon he knows the score

Ive been waiting for him to come out and say this publically, i dont think we will win the title but if we concentrate on trying to win the league the top 4 position will just fall in place.

I reckon it's generally huge underestimation if people really think that man of his football experience and winning pedigree hasn't already figured out that certain attributes will work in Premier League and certain others will not.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I like the way he stated that he wants to bring players in who want to win the league. To me, that translates as we won't pay over the odds for you, or pay you the earth, but if you want to come and win the League Title and all that comes with it, then get on board. Combined with his 'Play my way or the Highway' talks with the players, he's becoming the manager that we've been missing for many years.

Just the question of, 'Who's got the motivation, commitment and ambition to get us there?'.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

Seems to me that Mancini wants to build a squad where players need to be strong, determined, dicaplined and quickly adaptable rather than just skillful and with flair. Its all about the team rather than individuals. He definately knows what hes doing this guy.

A bit OT but when do the fixtures come out for next season?.Reason i ask is that when we see them we could make a better judgement on the title hopes.
