If he moves to City, he'll need to succeed as the footballing world will be watching him. Am assuming he doesn't have a lack of confidence issue and just flips out sometimes a la Drogba.

IMO if we somehow get Torres, the media will go mental. Not going to complain but I could do without the aggro for a change.

I'm not convinced about Ibrahimavic though. He's got to be good but I seem to miss those games that he excels in.

I have and he really does take control of the game, however I don't think we'd be interested cause he is just another version of Ade. And he is 29yo and they will want over £40M for him...yeah, there's a recap. For those that think he is a waste, he has 16 goals in 28 games this season, not a bad return on a player no-one seems to want.

How can the Rags afford Benzema?

Even without spending money on a single player I expect their debts to go up by at least another 40m in comparison to last year.

They are making operational profits to my knowledge and also money from the Tranny sale is still in there.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Rumours of their financial death have been greatly exaggerated.

TBH i would rather go for hungry, young adam johnsons than players were gonna bitch about on here for not giving a shit if we get to important games.

1) how can united afford benzema
2) mancio has publically stated that in the summer, he would go for maicon and ibra. PLEASE NOT ibra; it just smacks of going tits up. And we already have enough lazy players. Maicon, yes please, but surely they wont sell and weve got boateng.

Erm....just where did he "say" that

I have not read a single quote directly saying that, nor any vaguely alluding to it

They are making operational profits to my knowledge and also money from the Tranny sale is still in there.

They reported a profit of around +48m last year ... that included the 80m they got from the Ronaldo sale.

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... 48m_profit

On top of that this included their Premier League winners prize money, their Carling Cup prize money and did they not also reach the FA Cup Semi Final? On top of that they reached the final of the CL and became runners up (that alone is about 7m in prize money alone).

On top of that all the ticket sales and TV revenue.

This year they got kicked out of the FA Cup in round 3, did not even reach the Semi Final of the CL and did not win the League either. They only won the Carling Cup. Furthermore they have no C.Ronaldo for sale....

So I conclude 2 things:

1. Their income this year is going to be significantly lower than last year (due missing out on prize money, less TV revenue and Ticket sales due to crashing out of competitions much earlier than last year).
2. They have no Ronaldo for Sale (80m)

Now... even if they would have earned the same amount of money as last year (which they did not), they still do not have 80m incoming for a player they sell... if they had not sold Ronaldo last season, they would have actually reported a loss of nearly 32m.

That's why I think that with the decrease of money that actually came in this season their loss this season should be at least 40m?

Who have they got that they can sell this time? They can still buy as long as they sell for more. This, in my opinion, is why they are buying Smalling from Fulham - to replace Vidic at a profit. Who's to say they can't pay 24M for Bezema with Rooney out for 50-odd?

I am not a massive fan of Ibrahimovic, so I hope we don't get him. But then I didn't really want Bellamy and look how wrong I was there.

That is what I mean though. How would they be able to buy ANYONE without selling one of two of their players for a lot of dosh?

Eventually, if they do follow this path, they are going to run out of players they can sell.

Agreed I think Vidic is a dead cert out the door and maybe Rooney aswell to fund an influx of players as the team they have will not touch Chelsea next season as Abra has promised to invest this year and there team is already better than the rags although ageing and that money would only make them stronger. Although the fans will tell you they still have 80 million to spend of the tranny money on players like somebody said above 40 million of that went on debt which left 40 million profit with the club. Which will have probably been lost this season. We don't know this for sure but they will probably have to sell to fund the cash needed to mount a serious title challenge on Chelsea. As no doubt Abra will be giving the manager 50+ million if he needs it to keep Chelsea on top and really go for CL next season.

So Villa may be a Barca player by Monday according to this morning's sites. Talk of Bojan going the other way but I can't see that somehow and Valencia obviously need cash.

One to spike Arsenal is that Fabregas has allegedly told all his family and mates that he's coming to an agreement with Barca and wants it all sorted before the WC (City have approached his agent but another English club is out of the question). Wenger will move for Arteta as a substitute.

All of which leaves Barca a bit crowded in midfield and up front, and probably wanting cash.

Inter are getting into the Higuaín hunt, whilst 31% of French would like to see Benzema in the WC. Not high I would say, but Vieira got 12%!
