I can't remember last time Italy had so weak strikers. Not a single truly world class finishers while some decent players for sure.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

When you look at the Spanish forwards, if Torres doesnt prove his fitness they will struggle too, relying on Villa as much as we rely on Rooney

According to FM, Spain beat England in the final in a penalty shootout.

England lose a penalty shootout? I think FM knows all.

holland and germany look tasty at those odds. Those will be losing bets tho. Worth a small sack of cash on Chile, Nigeria or Ivory Coast or Uruguay imho.

too bad i'm broke and/or don't bet. Or else i'd put some money on the above teams.

I'd like to see Holland win.
I believe that the Argies will win.
I'd like to see Brasil fuclin stumble.
I think Nigeria will punch above their weight. Maybe Ivory Coast, but if Drogs can't play i'd take them off that list.

cheers

I know it's only a friendly, but is anyone watching the Aussie's v Americano's?

Nice strike, the US of A are 1 up.

2-1 now late...the US has missed some easy counterattacking chances late. The strangest thing has been seeing the Socceroos attacking verve...they have this bald CB who's pushing up the pitch and joining in attack. Looks tasty. Anyone know who he is? I thought he was a midfielder at first since he's pretty crafty with the ball at his feet.

3-1. Gomez seals it in stoppage time. Decent performance from the US today, created a bunch of chances. On the other hand, defense looked like leaking goals a few times.

i think you got the mojo Ryan.

Also, Hanneman may look a tiny bit like me, but he's no Doom Merchant. He's a nutter.

I do hope that pitch isn't the same as those in the stadiuns, it cut up before they even started running. Good game to watch though, end to end and there should've been a lot more goals, some of the passing and shooting in the 18 yard box was comical at times, but as I said, it may have been down to the pitch and also that ball.

From what I've seen, we're not going to have an easy time against the Yanks, especially if we play as we did in our last 2 friendlies where we looked very disorganised. I was actually hoping we'd play friendlies this week and thought Fabio had actually missed a trick but looking at the injuries other teams are getting, I think now that he's got it right.

i felt like Bradley played some of his best players too long today. He was courting disaster. Maybe i'm just silly, but i wouldn't want my best players playing more than 45 mins a week before their first match.

Brazilian referee Carlos Simon has been picked to referee England v. USA. I'd honestly never heard of the guy, his Wikipedia page says he was involved in a bit of controversy at the last World Cup. Seems like as good a choice as any.
