Ade scores goals in this side which no other striker could even get a reasonable foot or head on.

his finishing ability is 4x that of Tevez...if Tevez had that natural finishing ability he'd score 40 from the positions he gets himself into.

Bent can't even be compared to Ade. Sorry.

I know it seems fashionable to slag Ade by some, but i think he's fantastic, and will matter for years to come. He's a great player, with a bright future at City.

cheers

I would be staggered if we bought Bent.

I wouldnt be surprised if Mancini didnt keep Adebayor.

i would be delighted if we bought bent and even more delighted if we kept ade aswell. i think bent would come on leaps and bounds training with ade and carlos and on match day being fed off swp, johno and bellers

that'd leave us with one player able to score regularily up front and we'd have to bring in three strikers in summer. Bent would be one of the better available.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I think you posted this when you had consumed copious amounts of White Lightening. Darren Bent is wank. He's had one good season that's all. He'll revert to type next season.

We'll definitely bring in new Strikers - but I'd be unwhelmed at the arrival of Darren Bent considering the spending we have. He'd have been a star signing for Pearce.

Just a gut feeling for me that Mancini doesn't fancy either of them and will bring in new players. Ade at his best is quality but I don't think we see his best often enough. When he isn't fully at it and firing I don't think there is enough effort and he doesnt lead the line well.

I agree with Doug I'd be staggered if we signed Bent too. I think Ade's future will depend on who we can bring in. If we can't get real top strikers in then we'll stick with what we've got imo or maybe just bring in a youngster.

I don't think Ade's lazy but I think he's almost impossible to link up with & doesn't lead the line at all. He could but he doesn't. The only real centre forward we have is RSC but seeing as we don't cross the ball to him EVER, perhaps we're better off without one for now.

i wouldnt want to try and second guess Mancini, or Doug for that matter as he sees at close hand the way Bob goes about his business, but as for Adebayor i feel there is a reasonable chance he will get another season to prove himself, mainly because he had a real stop start stop start season and my sense is that anyone with a fair mind would acknowledge that in their assessment of the bloke. He looks like he has changed his attitude to some extent and it may be worth seeing what that produces given a fresh season to go at it, remember also he wont be going to the African Nations which might otherwise have tipped the balance against him.

I cant see Bent or anyone else being a replacement for Ade, but a player to complement what we have.

No reason with a full season Ade can't bag 25 goals along with Tevez next season, so we will need another goalscorer to shoulder the workload given potentially an extra 15-20 games.

In fact given the extra workload, there is a case to say that even RSC should stay so long as we can get a proper goalscorer in

We need at least 4 top strikers mate I reckon, given how much injuries, suspensions, babies and machine guns take their toll. Given that RSC may not be up to it - and I have to agree that he was dire at W Ham, after supporting him previously due to his lack of games - then we need 2 more top players up front. Not sure Bent will be one of those though, but you never know. If he wants to move I'm sure he's the sort of guy who could agitate for it no problem.

I'm hoping RSC is a revelation at the WC (just as he was at the Confederation Cup prior to his arrival in England). I wouldn't let him go till afterwards in anycase - at the very least his value will hardly drop any further.
