City's missed penalties?

Postby BobbyJ1956 » Sat May 15, 2010 3:51 pm

Last weekend i played in an old buggers' game, 7 a side, and got beat after our "striker" missed a penalty when it was 0-0. Now Portsmouth have missed one in the Cup Final. Which makes me wonder, who was the last City player to miss a penalty, given that Tevez scored all of his and so did Elano before him. And what was the costliest penalty miss you've ever seen in a City game? I can think of Fowler in the last minute v Middlesbrough a few years back but that didn't matter much because even if he'd scored and City had qualified for Europe they'd not have gone very far. So which penalty misses (or goals) stand out in City's history - the obvious ones from the Gillingham game apart?

Joey Barton missed against Charlton only to hammer in the rebound.

Robinho at home last season. Can't remember who it was against, I could probably look at the website to find out but I can't be arsed.

Robinho (remember him?) tamely tapped a penalty right at Marton Fulop (ever heard of him?) when we beat Sunderland 1-0 last March.

This is the last competitive miss I remember.

Not particularly costly, but Gareth Taylor ruined my 9th birthday at Maine Road against Bristol Rovers on 12th December 1998. A piss poor 0-0, then pretty much last kick of game City get a penalty. Up steps Taylor who put it into the back of the North Stand. Happy days...

Has anyone mentioned Robbie Fowler?

On the goals scored it says

Darts still isnt a board game.
