There is alot of truth in these kind of things.

I used to work for wetherspoons in piccadilly gardens for about 3 years, every st georges day the police had written to our head office saying that flags and all the bits and bobs about celebrating being english should be kept to a absolute minimum. The bouncers was also told to refuse people wearing england shirts from my managers who had been told by head office.

Its not shite, Its quitely happening but its not making national news or papers because people would kick off big time but we wouldnt want that would we.

from wikipedia:

St George's Cross has been adopted on the coat of arms and flags of several countries and cities which have St George as a patron saint, notably England, Georgia, Aragon, Greece, Genoa and Barcelona.

The cross is also found, for various reasons, on the provincial flag of Huesca, Zaragoza and Teruel as well as the municipal flag for numerous cities, including Montreal, Almería, Milan, Genoa, Padua, Zadar and Freiburg im Breisgau. It is also the basis for the Four Moors flag of Sardinia. Guernsey was permitted to use it as its state flag between 1936 and 1985.

Historically, the cross appeared on many now extinct flags, emblems and coats of arms, such as that of the Swabian League in late Medieval Germany.

Right, let's fuck the pubs and the police! Quite simple:

1. Get ourself a load of Stella/Bow and get the Barby out.
2. Watch the game at home in your England shirt with beer dispensing Lazy Boy, flag hanging out of top window.
3. Once finished, retire to back garden and enjoy yourself with family.

That way, the pubs don't get the business, them and the police don't get paid, they lose their jobs, we all run riot in 2 years (naked of course)!

Of course they won't ban the shirts, thats just fucking ridiculous! It would also be a further fuck up to your world cup bid in my opinion, if football fans cant show their support!

FFS I live in Belfast and even we haven't attempted to ban either side wearing shirts when their team made the world cup.........although I wasn't alive the last time Northern Ireland made the world cup so I can't 100% confirm this ;)

If they banned someone for that, they could get round it by wearing a stripey t shirt, beret, red scarf, a string of onions & a comedy moustache..

I know this sort of shit does happen , as this country lost its bollox a long time ago. I just think this one is too far fetched and I know for a fact it will create a war zone accross the country (and Im not exaggerating ) . I just think they also know this and simply wouldnt dare.

I pointed out to them that the Australian flag has the St. George's cross on it as well, didn't shut them up telling me about the differences between the union jack and the cross, I was really too drunk to care at the time, I think they were just sore cause they lost.

No racism in Australia is there!

You should certainly be ashamed though, Not sure whats worse a jock wearing an England top or watching Rugby.
