poncy? cooking isn't poncy, hard man.

The wife's taken the girls camping -- as in a hen party with a bunch of other mothers and their daughters in a cabin, not exactly campint to me, but... regardless, i surely am the better of the two of us in the kitchen. I'll give her a blowjob when she gets home if she asks politely.

i was being polite offering you some brekkers, in the middle of your evening i guess. Offer rescinded. Yr on your own.

cheers

yr on the wrong side of this one. Vegetables are for men. Curries are for men.

I'm grilling some steaks for lunch later if that helps. Lemme know.

I fancy Algeria...what do you think? i've got no real sense of either team's strengths, but Algeria just seemed insanely possessed when beating their rivals Egypt.

cheers

EDIT: i can't type and watch footy very well.

There are a few points that I'd like to raise beginning with the fact that if Green hadn't have fucked up, we would've won the game. Watching all the qualifiers and friendlies, it was clear to see that the back four had no real confidence in Green's and James' abilities; they seemed to be worried about every aspect of the keeping. However, when Joe came on in the last 2 friendlies, the back four seemed to have total confidence and we were a better team for him being on the field. What winds me up is that you've got Green who nearly went down with West Ham and James who did go down with Portsmouth, able to be considered in front of a player who became Brums Player of the Year and help them into a very creditable position in their first year in the Prem. Fair enough, he hasn't got that International experience but when you consider that first and foremost the ability to be able to stop goals going in the net is a pre-requisite, then why would anyone opt for James or Green, what have they actually achieved in their own playing careers?

So, on the goalkeeper front, I'd have no hestitation in giving Joe the jersey, not because I am biased but because he is the one who has the form and moreover, the trust of the other players.

Another point I'd like to raise is Ledley King and Harry Redknapp. This is a sore subject for me because I honestly feel that these 2 could've really fucked our chances up. I distinctly remember Harry talking up Ledley's chances of going to the World Cup and specifically said that he could play in all games aslong as he's rested inbetween. Ledley then went on to play 3 games in 10 days proving that his knee's could handle it and gave him a pass for Fabio to pick him. Looking back, it is plain to see that Ledley would not be able to hack the pace as he's not been able to string 3 games together for quite a while, and I'd suggest that Ledley was probably taken injections just to force is way into the England squad.

So, on the defender front, I'd have gone for Dawson even before Rio, as we all know how injury prone these 2 are. And when you consider Dawson's form this season, he has been immense for them and when I've watched their games he has shown excellent ability as well as very good leadership qualities which should have given him an automatic place, not a last minute call-up.

My last point has to be on the Heskey situation, why is he on the pitch? OK, he can hold the ball up blah blah blah, but his job is to score goals surely, otherwise he may as well be a midfielder. Using 2 people for only one to score is far from ideal but if Fabio decided to put Crouch up there from the start, then at least he can do both and he'd allow Rooney to actually get up with play.

Luckily, we have 5 days now to get things right and I'm just hoping Fabio has learnt from his mistakes. Let's just hope he's got the balls to drop people that are not up to the task, just as he did when telling Terry he's lost his captaincy.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

One thread per game makes much more sense in my humle opinion.

We should make one match day thread per day imo.

Slovenia look the more likely, but I sense a draw as lack of quality up front on both sides will hurt them, but Slovenia are tight and disciplined at the back.

I am sure typing and watching footy are just a couple on a very very long list of things you can't do well.

Ted Hughes wrote:It was pretty much as I expected apart from the howler tbh. I fully expected the USA to score but not like that!

Imo it was a decent performance for the 1st game & important not to lose. US did well but England were better & should have won. Capello knows about tournament play & if England are to do well in this one, it will be by gritting it out like the Germans & Italians do, not by hammering everybody. It was a much better 1st game than England's usual showing & there's not much wrong that can't be fixed.
My biggest worry other than the keepers, is that we're relying on two of the slowest most overrated defenders in the country; King & Carragher. Should have taken Dawson. The loss of camel gob could decide it.

Was there anyone on the planet who thought Heskey would score?

he replaced rio and is there but your points are good, heskey wont score in a brothel with a fistful of 20's and prob wnt play any betterr than he did last night, 4-5-1 is the future for england!
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If England and the US and A don't go through, someone should pull off a Columbian move circa 1994 and end someone's misery. This group is piss easy for a real footballing team with any ambition. England should win this group with 7 pts, the US should snag at least 4 pts and i'd be hardpressed to see either of the other teams collect 4 pts.

If the US somehow fucl up and don't get the 3 pts against Slovenia then they'll make heavy weather of this shit for sure and it could go down to goal difference. On paper, i'm not sure the US are THAT much better than Slovenia, but they should be able to take them down based upon what we just watched.

cheers

i was joking. i don't want a thread a day or a thread for every match. this is just fine for me. i'm lazy. it's easy.

And you would have lost if Green knew how to pick up a ball.

You deserved nothing from the game and got a point, I'd be a bit more gracious if I were you.
