Barrios and Vera did really well there - great finish. Hope the Slovaks actually decide to play now.

Who the hell is that Paraguayan Santa Cruz? Running at defenders, shooting with venom, linking up well with the rest of the team.

I think we bought the Chinese knockoff version.

there has been glimpses of his talents but he is being very tightly marked. he also needs to start trying the simple ball more often.

The first time was bad enough, he really shouldn't try that again.

This just from the Guardian's minute-by-minute

70 min: Holosko comes on for Slovakia, for Sestak. Paraguay play neatly just in front of the centre-circle then play in Santa Cruz, excellent from the left all day, whose dinked cross is headed downwards by Vera and the bounce and spin takes it inches wide.

who is this maestro???

Agreed. He's done more than Hamsik in both games though, and Hamsik's one hell of a player.

Paraguayans are pressing very well - Slovak's haven't had one shot on goal.

I have been impressed with him today, although when he went down to that mistimed challenge I thought, fucking hell another season on the treatment table.

Nice touch, both Rocky and Weiss were asked for their shirt and they both pointed across the pitch at each other, City players ending up swapping shirts.

Both played well

For England's chances, I should remind people that last time we made the semi-finals in 1990 we ended the group stage with 1 win and 2 draws, then proceeded to scrape through in extra time wins against Belgium and Cameroon. Brazil who were the only team with a 100% record from the group stage, fell at the first hurdle in the knockout rounds.

By the look's of it, we are doing our best to rival France, on and off the fucking pitch.
