I know what you're saying but if they'd changed drastically then the overall opinion would surely have been one of disappointment after such a good reaction last time, especially after they made such a big statement about going back to Citys' heritage and tradition with the shirts i.e. all the videos explaining the shirts on the OS etc.

Maybe last seasons' should have been for 2 years but everybody loves a new shirt don't they, especially judging by the length of this thread

It's purely a money making move by Umbro imo. City are starting to be a 'cool' club again so let's hit the new bread of fans hard - in the pocket.

There was no other reason to change from last year's as it was already the most loved shirt I've seen anyway.

It's always about the money and always will be till us gullible fans stop buying 2 or 3 shirts a season. But, I can't be the only one that looks forward to buying a new shirt?

As for the moaners. Id actually be really pissed off if we had to keep our shirts for 2 seasons. I get really excited when we're due our new kits..FFS its £40 a YEAR on a nice t shirt that you can wear with your head held high and with passion!! or £120 if you want all 3!! That would just about get you one Lacoste t shirt!

Bringing out shirts isnt like payin tax!! YOU DONT HAVE TO FOOKIN BUY THEM!!! like some seem to think. If you have such a problem about it, dont buy the new ones and just wear the old shirts for another season..

Must be nice up there on your high horse.

I have no problem shelling out for new shirts (it's lot more than £40 to ship to the other side of the world but that's never an issue). It's the fact that it really isn't a lot different to the one we already have.

It's hard to get excited when it isn't much of a new design. This time last year was exciting for example.

Well, it pisses me off when people moan, like tax has just been put up or something. I knew the design wouldnt change too much and Im glad of it. Im sure, in the flesh, it will look further away from the current shirt. The different fabrics between the shirt and the sleeves will stand out more as will the pin stripes. The only way to change from last season in a big way would be just add shite to it, which would take the classic look away.

I agree with you mate that there wasn't a lot they could do to make it any better. I guess it's a catch 22 situation - you leave it as when people like a new shirt, or you change it and piss people off.

No doubt I'll be getting one, but it's just not very exciting. Really looking forward to the away one, though it'll be tough to top the black shirt.

I think it would have looked better, and more different, if it was of the England home design. Yeah, people get pissed off with new shirts, but although we have all this cash, we still need to make the bucks like anyother club. Im sure we make a packet on shirts.

Oh, and the Black shirt is mint!!!! Im actually thinkin about buyin it again as its faded a little due to me wearin it so much. Plus, I had Robinho on the back :-/

I love the LAHAD style old school scarf trim inside the neck

That is the detail that sells that to me as being the genuine shirt

I rather like it....I like the cut which is the part which is "new" from last season

I can see why people might think "what a swizz" it's not much different

BUT then again, you could easily get away with wearing last year's and not look out of place as it's so similar (exact same colour/sponsor etc etc). So the "need" to buy the new one isn't really the same as when we changed from LCS to Umbro etc

Have really not wanted to loose the present kit as its by far my favourite city kit but the new one looks good. Not far off last seasons, i would have hated a dramatic change and always prefer lighter blue i never liked the darker blue we had with Kappa/eidos.Really like the increased white on the end of the sleeve but i do think the neck area is missing something it looks a bit plain without the white on the neck.
Happy enough with that overall, good shirt.

I like it, nice and simple and the little scarf inside the collar is a nice touch.
