Hats off to Germany. That keepball sequence about 10 mins ago was fantastic.

I'd love to see some of the kids playing. Lamps, Barry, gerard, James, Terry, upson, heskey all need to be pushed on.

Capello really has been found out here. He's a tired dinosaur just like this England setup are. Sad. Hopefully it's a wakeup call to blood some kids and bring in some fresh perspectives.

Sorry it went pear-shaped friends...

I wouldn't say realy well, just taking advantage of avoidable english mistakes.

it takes quality to do that, punishing a mistake is not easy. had city being on the end of a performance we'd be saying poor defending but had it being city punishing those mistakes we'd be saying great play by our team?

Fair enough, but I still don't think that the Germans are that good.

The Germans have 4 or 5 members of their under 21s in this current squad and some are playing today. Could you really see England taking a chance like that?? He needs to grow a set and blood some new young hungry players starting with Hart in goal and get rid of this old guard.

Our U21's are mostly a load of shite.

Can't be any worse than this lot??

We need to forget who's shite in the u21's, honestly we had players who were immensely talented in u21's and turned into piles of...well, if you've been watching....THAT.

Fact is that the team who wins will probably not be the best "on paper" team, they will be the side that plays as an effective team with a manager who has picked the right players for the right positions....can I say again, FOUR FUCKING CENTRAL FUCKING MIDFIELDERS YOU FUCKING CLUELESS FUCKING ITALIAN FUCKING CUNT.

English manager, picking the best TEAM, and fuck off these fucking foreigners out of our fucking league. Go fucking play for Cork or fucking Boca Juniors.

Sorry but Capello cannot be blamed for this. The players are responsible and them alone. They didn't play like this in the qualifiers. Since the season finished, they've all finished. They've been fucking abysmal and have been jokers since they broke through. Somebody tell me now, out of Lampard's 70 odd caps, name me one fucking game he's played for England and played well?

Sven, Shteve and Fabio should all be given knighthoods for trying to manage a bunch of over-paid pampered babies.

nope, thats what makes it all the sadder. An average team were allowed to play like a Brazil 1970 against us.

Some of their passing in the England half has been mesmeric. Ditto their speed on the break.

For such a young team I can't see how it could get much better.

When you consider how some of these blokes can run, pass, shoot etc in the PL & what they've produced in this tournament, this ranks as the worst ever performance by an England team imo. Capello also has been useless, selection wise & tactically. He's managed to make Sven look like Alf Ramsey.

That's not to take anything away from Germany who were excellent but we played almost as badly v Algeria.

One or two aside, who else is there to pick?

It's about time we realised we don't produce top class players anymore. Rooney is the best we've got, future wise we only seem to have AJ, and he only has potential. You could see in Rooney straight off that he was definitely going to be top class. AJ has potential, but he's going to have to put a lot of work in.

AJ aside though, there's little else to pick. Football is broke in England, it has been for at least 10 years now. We all know it, we've been complaining for years. That those players there today are the very best we have is something we should be concerned about, not rail against the poor cunt who's got to manage a poor representation of the biggest football industry in the world.

Capello picked the best of what we've got. That they've failed tournament over tournament, the reasons for that should be pretty obvious now, 3/4 managers down the line.
