I don't get your point here?? Unless you think Villa plays for RM?? I doubt you could be that stupid though.. So I really don't get what point your trying to make.. Unless your talking about him being great this world cup? That wasn't my point though I was trying to point out RM has a way of turning players into dust lately.

I could come up with some point about big money transfers turning players into shit and such, but the fact is, it was 4am in the morning and I had a brain fart.

I personally work off the best team have to beat all others to win the cup and have no problems with what I have seen. Shame City aren't there to get into the final, but eh, we're used to it...............no?

Just wanted Portugal to play football mate, rather than line up like Stoke. When they attacked for 5 mins at the end, they caused Spain problems, their defence isn't the best, but it was as if they'd planned on penalties. Horrible.

Re big games; that's the problem for me, in those big potential classic games, only Germany & Spain turned up & Spain were a pale imitation of Barca when it came down to breaking through a defence. Brazil v Portugal was a fucking disgrace.

The whole thing is like a huge scam to me. Very very average football with just occasional flashes of what the players do all the time in the real competitions for their club sides but being told I'm watching something special.

I as torn for the winner of the match I wanted Spain to win as I said they would win the world cup way back when so I wanted to be right. However I also wanted them to be knocked out for the simple reason it would speed up the Silva transfer most likely as he would have nothing to do plus he would probably be available for the pre-season too.

Portugal only played when they thought they could win and Spain far outplayed the other so called Iberian giants. I agree with many of your sentiments but every game counts and teams change in a way that they think they'll suit.

The truth is that we are spoilt cos' we see those flashes week-in/week-out, but in reality, this is the World Cup where just one play of sublime quality will be remembered.

The idea that you can throw together a team of players from one nationality & they're better than a team of multi nationalities who train together every day is wearing thin imo. Unless things get a lot more sublime I think history will just mainly skip this & the last WC & default to back to Zidane etc.

Over to you Lionel, make some history.

I enjoyed last night's game. Not the worst I've seen. That would be in the prem. The atmosphere here in Spain was electric, nobody I met thought it was a boring game. When Spain won there were people letting of flares driving round blasting their horns all that sort of stuff.
What gets me is how deluded half the experts have got themselves about how thrilling the prem is.On average there's 20 games a week so it's more than probable that one of them is going to be half good. When there has been more or less weekly threads on how boring Roberto has got us playing with 3 def midfielders. How the group stage of the CL is such a bore. And for me there the crap thats served up with some pub teams on TV when the FA cup starts. The dis-respect the big clubs show the Europa League and CC.
Yet the experts want to moan about watching some of the current best players in the world busting a gut and playing to the best of their abilities in a competition that is the biggest in the world.
Delusion of the highest order.

Hmmm tough one. Think Tevez isn't as consistent. Different type of players, as Villa is more of an out-and-out striker, but this WC he's been playing on the left and is still banging them in for fun and setting up chances for others, which has surprised me. If Barca offered to swap him for Tevez, I'd go for it I think. Not going to happen though so luckily don't have to think about it

Tevez is up with the best, but Villa IS the best striker in the world.
