According to the main sport newspaper of Italy, an official bid for 22 ml £ was made for discussed and very talented young striker Mario Balotelli. He told yesterday to Italian Skysports: " Man City? Why not? I'm a big friend of Roberto Mancini!"
From Torino, Italia to Manchester, Lancashire this City is always our City!

Kolarov too?? Fooking hell we replacing half our defence again this season? I am one for upping the quality of our team but not replacing it every window.

So to recap, at present we are in for Toure, Milner, Kolarov, Dzeko, Balotelli, Ibrahimovic, Silva, Torres and Gerrard?

Definately need a left back so Kolarov seems to fit the bill, Toure can play cent midf and cent half so he fits in, Gerrard to play box to box, Torres up top with Silva on the wing, and Milner/Balotelli/Dzeko and Zlatan on the bench. What a team we are going to have .......

Wake me up when somethings on the OS.

Pretty obvious really, why would city sell Tevez, the heart of our team and our star for a pittance of £40 million. There would be riots if we did that.

And dont forget how we would all be feeling about it too.

Real can offer us £200m, its not like we need the money now is it?

Hmmm... tribal football

I doubt the deal would have got as far as it has and he would suddenly ask them to block it

IBH you should know better than to quote tribal. Yaya is Barca's player and they dont have to sell him.

There was however a story in the last hour that the Laporta deal with City expired on Monday and therefore the new Pres has to start from scratch, by 'protocol'.

Sounds like utter bollox to me, but the Spanish do love beaurocracy!

And season tickets go on open sale tomorrow, so dont discount another announcement before the morning!

From Sky Sports:
Coentrao happy to move on

Sought-after left-back will move if Benfica want to sell

Portuguese full-back Fabio Coentrao says he will leave Benfica if the club want to sell him at the right price.

It is thought Bayern Munich and Manchester City have entered the race to sign the 22-year-old, but Benfica have rejected their offers, believed to be under 20million euros (£16.4m).

Juventus and Real Madrid are also believed to be interested in the player but Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira is holding out for the club's valuation of at least 30million euros (£24.6m).

But the player says if the club do finally receive an offer they are happy with, he would be happy to leave for pastures new.

Coentrao said: "I do not say many things about this subject. But if a bid is positive for the club, I will accept the exit.

"I am at a big club but is normal that I desire to improve like a professional."

In 2007, Benfica beat the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea to Coentrao's signature from Rio Ave.

He was signed as a winger but he has been a revelation since being played at left-back this season, making it into the national side and featuring at the World Cup.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

i've seen them both so sparingly i couldn't even tell you who could be a better LB. Glad we're looking to upgrade here tho...it's a big big need.

Wolfsburg want £50million for Edin Dzeko.

Wolfsburg have stunned Manchester City by insisting it will cost them at least £50million to prise away Edin Dzeko.

The Bosnian is keen to join City but Roberto Mancini rightly considers the deal too expensive. City made an offer last month which was rejected and are now waiting on the player to push for the move.

I hope we are looking at both fullback positions. Even if we start with the usual suspects so as not to cock up the defensive organisation, we could phase in a couple of quality newcomers as the season progresses.

I really hope we don't sign Gerrard. It just has disaster written all over it- the way he performs for England says a lot I think, he's a scouser and that's all that matters to him. If we pay £25million+ I think I'd cry. Sometimes you have to look beyond how good a player is and factor other things, in this case, it's his motivation- I just don't think it'd be there in a blue shirt.

Very positive about Touré if it comes through, always been impressed by his athleticism and ability. We have Ireland, who can attack, and de Jong who can defend, but Touré can do both well, proper box-to-box midfielder.

As for Dzeko, always looked a good player when I've seen him but again, we're setting ourselves up for disaster if we pay anything like £35million and he can't acclimatise.

I'd be inclined not to go overboard with defensive signings, because it's arguably the most important place on the pitch for the players to have a good relationship with one another. If we keep chopping and changing they'll never settle so I reckon we should run with Boateng, Kompany, Lescott and Bridge with Richards, Touré, Zabs and the young lads to fill in when necessary. Maybe a left-back to give Bridge some proper competition but definitely think the centre-half pairing at least needs to stay the same.

Well Landon Donovan was on Regis and Kelly (an American talk show) today he played soccer with Kelly's son who was wearing a Manchester City shirt. Is that a sign?

Hmm a sign i'm not sure.

If Landon was offered the chance to come here would he take it? Yes. I'm sure of it.

Doubt he will get that offer though tbh.

I feel sort of...ugh after watching that. I'd give Kelly one though, at a push. At least she's better at football than Diana Ross.

it's a Tevez top. How the fucl did they get that? i mean, think about it...the rumour hits the wires a couple days ago...it's a kids shirt, so....just interesting placement imho. What i'm suggesting is that someone from City is involved in getting him that top. OR some assclown who works as a keygrip on the production team is a City fan and it's his sons top and he lent it to the show. Whatev.

City want to be huge in America i'm sure...could they actually fuclin try and sign him just for that reason alone? i'd really hope not, but that video kinda creeped me out tbh.

cheers
