Man City take A-Team actor's son on trial

Manchester City have taken Roland Benedict - son of A-Team actor Dirk - on trial.

The 20-year-old striker enjoyed a spell at Gillingham two years ago and is now back to try to earn a contract with mega-rich City.

His father Dirk, who played the conman Templeton "Faceman" Peck in the cult 1980s television show, said: "Roland has played soccer since he was four years old and always wanted to play in England so I said 'let's go for it'. He is quite good."



Is Mancini's plan coming together?

If this is a publicity move (maybe Gary Cook is a huge Battle Star Galactica fan) then the timing is great!

Still haven't seen the new A-Team movie but I hear that the guy who Howlin' plays Mad Murdock is perfect.


But if this a serious trial, I have heard hide nor hair of 'Roland,' not in the U-21s, in the U-18s, or in the MLS
Pre-School Draft.

But, another chance for an American player is all right in my book!!!

Bizarre.....I work at M/cr Airport and there is an 'A-Team' van parked in the long stay car park right now as I type this. Could it be the real one?? It's a proper GMC....Black with the red stripe going up to the rear spoiler and the red trim on the wheels.....is it just coincidence?? ;)
